The maapilim were the Jewish immigrants who arrived in British Mandate Palestine outside the official quotas, especially around the Second World War years. Posts here pick up their story at two coastal arrival points: the Atlit detention camp area near Zichron Yaakov, and the Tel Aviv beachfront where some of the boats came ashore.
