Yad Mordechai
Yad Mordechai is a kibbutz in the southern coastal plain, named after Warsaw Ghetto Uprising leader Mordechai Anielewicz. It was the site of a hard-fought 1948 battle against the invading Egyptian army. Discussed here as part of a post on the southern front in the War of Independence.
