Zionism
Zionism is the late-19th-century movement for Jewish national self-determination in the land of Israel. Its story runs through a lot of what’s visible across the country. Posts here cover Mount Herzl in Jerusalem, where Theodor Herzl is buried alongside Israel’s national cemetery and Yad Vashem, and the founding-era streets of old Tel Aviv that grew up out of the movement’s early years.
