Jaffa Gate

Jaffa Gate is the main western entrance to the Old City of Jerusalem, built by Suleiman the Magnificent in 1538. The adjoining wall was breached in 1898 to let Kaiser Wilhelm II ride in on horseback. Discussed here as part of a summary post pulling together the Jerusalem strand of the blog.
