“Catholic schools my whole life and he knows the New Testament better.”
“I’ve had the privilege of seeing Israel with Samuel as my tour guide twice now. I can’t imagine going to Israel without Samuel’s guidance. I have been attending Catholic schools my entire life and I think it safe to say that Samuel knows much more about the New Testament then I do. In fact, I’m always amazed with how much knowledge Samuel brings to the table. He also offers many different narratives and explains the many different points of views that the people of Israel hold. I’m so grateful to call Samuel my friend. I know that I’ll be recommending him as a tour guide to family and friends who visit Israel!! Toda ahi!!”
“Last summer I led a group of 74 MBA students from the US to a trip in Israel, and Samuel was our guide. Sam was amazing! Same made our entire trip. He was charming, funny, full of knowledge, responsible and resourceful - Everything you’d want from a guide. In addition, I personally am not a fan of organized trips. Sam was able to make the students get enough freedom so they did not feel like they were tied up to too many constraints. In a few weeks, several friends of mine are coming to Israel from the US, and I didn’t even think about it - Sam will guide us through our travels in Israel.”
“This was the second trip my fiancee and I have done with Samuel (I plan to do many more!). This time we spent the day in Akko when Samuel took us around the beautiful old city and crusader tunnels. His breadth of knowledge never fails to amaze me and he has a talent for communicating this in a hugely accessible and amusing way. Knowing that we were into our food, he has arranged a number of stops for us to sample local delicacies both in and outside of the Old City. We look forward to undertaking many more tours with Samuel in the years to come.”
“Samuel was our tour guide during a recent 10 day family trip to Israel. There were three generations in our group and Samuel was able to engage each and every member of our family. He is smart, thoughtful and passionate about his work. In a short period of time, Samuel was able to show us much of what Israel is about. He provided a window into Israel’s history, people and culture. Samuel also understood that this was a vacation for us and made it fun. He was able to tailor his approach to meet our group’s needs. Samuel really made our trip special and I look forward to returning to Israel soon and connecting with Samuel again. Michael S.”
“I organized two graduate school trips for Johns Hopkins SAIS to spend a week in Israel. We were extremely fortunate to have Samuel for both years. He was knowledgeable about everywhere we went and very receptive to any changes we wanted to make. He went above and beyond in his effort to get to know every student on the trip, learning all of our names (btw there were 52 students on each trip!). I would highly recommend Samuel for any trip.”
“Having used Samuel a few years ago and been delighted with his detailed organisation, interesting locations and knowledgeable insights, we decided to book him again for our next trip. We again wanted to try to see some different aspects of the country and this time discussed the possibility of doing a good focused tour as we were aware of the range of high quality food available. Samuel drove us to several places across the country where we were able to try and buy splendid things ranging from amazing olive oil, vegan ice cream, cheeses, direct from the farm organic vegetables and freshly baked goods. Everything was delicious and I ate far too much! Overall we were very impressed with the places selected for our tour as the was no way we would have found them by ourselves. We had a great time. Thank you Samuel for also putting up with my constant need to take photographs along the trip. Again we can recommend using Samuel unreservedly for your trip to Israel!”
“We (my sister, brother-in-law and their baby) took a full day tour with Samuel in Ramle and Lod in November 2017. What stands out about Samuel as a tour guide is not his great sense of humor, his depth of knowledge, nor his ability to tailor a tour to a group (however eclectic); rather, it is his ability to bring people to off-the-beaten path locations that they would never be able to find on their own. In this age of omnipresent internet and online travel guides, it is tempting to try to do it on your own, do a little research, and read wikipedia entries for wherever you find yourself. Samuel planned a tour for us in Ramle and Lod that we never would have been able to plan for ourselves. He negotiated entry to a Mosque which we never would have been able to get into. He brought us to a Titian panting in a church that I didn’t even know existed. He filled our day with off-the-beaten track surprises, including local food, which we never would have found on our own. This is actually the second tour we have done with Samuel and the first was exactly the same - he took us to a tiny hole-in-the-wall pastry shop in the old city where I tried a local pastry that I had never tried before. In short, Samuel is an excellent, knowledgeable, funny tour guide, and the extra off-the-beaten path surprises are the cherry on top.”
“After a positive, successful experience with Samuel in summer 2016, I requested him to guide my 2017 teen leadership group. We were lucky to get him again (I know we are not the only group that asked for him!), and for the second time he connected incredibly well with my new group of Canadian teens - sharing interesting stories, connecting to our narrative, and answering questions clearly and concisely. It was a pleasure to work with Samuel on a staff level as well, as he always thought ahead, explored various options or requests that we had (in advance and on the ground), and went above and beyond to help us with any details that he could. You can’t go wrong with Samuel guiding your group!”
“The best way to discover Israel in a short period of time”
“I have used Samuel’s services in the past and now coming back to Israel with my wife and in-laws (newbies to Israel) I turned to him again to create the optimal itinerary for Tel Aviv and Jaffa. It was again an amazing experience. Samuel’s in depth knowledge of the city, country and culture combined with his great way of communication/delivering the message made us discover the city and the lovely country in a completely new and different way - opening up to experiences we wouldn’t have had without his thorough local knowledge. He made history (both ancient and recent) come to life through wonderful stories, which we all still vividly remember. The visit to Carmel market, discovering all the flavors of Israel (from Yemenite cuisine, to the best Sabich, to old Druze cuisine, we had it all) is something we will also not easily forget. Samuel was very helpful in the preparation for our trip and catered the tour fully to our interests and needs (the amazing food being one of mine ;) ). In short, Samuel’s is a guide I can warmly recommend especially in case you want to discover as much as possible of Israel/Tel Aviv in a short period of time. My wife and in-laws are now big Israel fans and we already talk about our next trip. We will definitely use Samuel’s services again when we return to Israel.”
“Beyond Belief, The Best Tour Guide Israel Has to Offer.”
“Having booked Samuel twice, for groups as large as 43 and 30, Samuel managed to take us on an incredible journey through Israel. Samuel inspired awe and amazement every where we went with incredible stories about the sights and sounds around us. I would recommend that you book Samuel for every day you possibly can, the man is extremely recommended for a good reason.”
“Samuel is an excellent guide. We had a group of roughly 57 the entire week and he did a fantastic job keeping everyone engaged, preparing us for our experiences, and handling a steady stream of complex and intelligent questions. This is our second year to do iTrek with Samuel guiding us, and we have loved it both times. Regardless of the size of group, I highly recommend Samuel to anyone who is looking for a fun, engaging, and educational tour in Israel!”
