“At the Holy Sepulchre he pulled us aside for the hidden treasures.”
“1. Do you want to learn more? 2. Are you open to new ideas? 3. Are you ready to change your perspectives? 4. Can you listen to someone without being stubborn? Well, Samuel does all those things and he deserves to have customers who will do the same. Every conversation I had with him opened up my eyes to understanding a complex nation. He’s not a tour guide. He’s a friend, a teacher, and a wise man. He’s someone who will make you laugh on your trip, who will expand your mind, and will be there when you need someone. When our group of 45 people went to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, he pulled me and one other member (the only Catholics) aside and took the time to show us the hidden Catholic treasures. He is so personal that he made all 45 people on that trip have a completely unique experience. Whenever I had questions, he would answer them as honestly as possible, with as much background as he can possibly put into an answer. When one of the sites made me extremely anxious, he noticed right away and was able to calm me down. Want to get a tattoo like I did? Well, he has the tattoo artist on speed dial and was ready to call him to book us a last minute appointment. I’ll never forget this trip and it’s all because of the graciousness Samuel has shown. If you’re considering Samuel as your tour guide, be ready for an adventure. My advice? Ask him as many questions as possible. Get the most you can out of him because he is a special human being and he deserves to have his talents be given to the most curious travelers. He’s not just a tour guide for the time of your trip, he’s a lifelong friend.”
“Catholic schools my whole life and he knows the New Testament better.”
“I’ve had the privilege of seeing Israel with Samuel as my tour guide twice now. I can’t imagine going to Israel without Samuel’s guidance. I have been attending Catholic schools my entire life and I think it safe to say that Samuel knows much more about the New Testament then I do. In fact, I’m always amazed with how much knowledge Samuel brings to the table. He also offers many different narratives and explains the many different points of views that the people of Israel hold. I’m so grateful to call Samuel my friend. I know that I’ll be recommending him as a tour guide to family and friends who visit Israel!! Toda ahi!!”
“Samuel lead a group of us (about 40) throughout the country and he was an outstanding tour guide. Not only was he friendly, funny, and engaging, but he is super knowledgable about Israeli history, culture, politics, geography, you name it. I know because I asked him a hundred questions trying to stump him and each time he had an interesting and insightful answer. His dining and bar recommendations are great, and he can help guide you towards whatever it is you’re interested in seeing or experiencing. Highly recommend.”
“Our daughter recently got married in Israel and we decided to arrange a tour a day or two before the wedding for some of our guests. How delighted we are that we chose Samuel. Our guests (some of whom have travelled extensively and had guided tours before) said he was the best tour guide they had ever met. His knowledge was second to none and apart from his amazing knowledge, he made the tour such fun. He really has a great personality. He also tailored the tour to the ability of the guests and even had contingency plans in place in case of rain. We would most definitely recommend him to anybody coming to Israel. He will truly enhance anyone’s visit. Our guests are still talking about the tour. Thank you Samuel!”
“Sam made my trip to Israel much more meaningful and fun. He is always willing to answer questions, provide help and explain historical and political stories in an interesting and fun way. Little initiatives like "song of the day" helped us immerse in the culture of Israel more deeply than would have been otherwise possible. I spent a week in Israel and have no doubts that my experience would not have been as amazing without Sam!”
“Sam is one of the best tour guides I’ve ever had. He’s knowledgeable, humorous, and helpful. There’s a certain element of poetry to his storytelling on the tours. He also passes around a "ask Sam anything" notebook. We wrote all kinds of interesting questions on there, to which he always provided interesting answers.”
“Samuel Green is such a knowledgeable and fun person to travel with. Plus, he is one the best story tellers I’ve ever met. He made my trip more meaningful in every way. 强烈推荐啊,找他还可以练标准伦敦英语😬😬😬”
“Samuel guided nearly 100 MBAs this summer on my trip in May 2016. His ability to manage different personalities and interests throughout the entire trip is a testament to his professionalism and adaptability. Whether your interest is ancient Jewish history or the modern socio-political situation of the Middle East, Samuel’s knowledge allowed him to educate and entertain deeply. My favorite memories from our tour are his stories: from Masada to the Syrian border to Jaffa, Samuel’s storytelling engages listeners and reveals different facets of Israeli culture. I also appreciated his ability to be self-critical and present an objective perspective to events and attitudes in a high-tension environment. I would seek his services if you: -want a fantastic, professional tour of Israel -want to enjoy your vacation -are excited about meeting great people I would not seek his services if you: -don’t enjoy life -don’t like learning -are looking for a crappy vacation Samuel also has an incredible secret skill you should ask him about when you meet him.”
“I was lucky enough to go on a 10 day Taglit Birthright tour this summer. My tour leaders were very friendly, but it was Samuel who really made the trip special. He went above and beyond to make sure our itinerary ran smoothly, and he was extremely knowledgeable about everything to do with Israel. He is charismatic and brings his charming sense of British humour to his tour programming. I will never forget experiencing Shabbat at the Western Wall, walking through Jerusalem at night, or hiking Masada while listening to Saumel’s stories about the history of this amazing country. His patience with our group and his expertise as a tour guide made my trip a success. Thank you Samuel!”
“Amazing tour experience with Samuel across Israel”
“Samuel was our guide during a 10 day trip all across Israel. In addition to being extremely knowledgeable about Israeli history, culture, music, and more, he is also very funny and responsive to his group’s needs. For any travelers looking for a guide to learn more about Israel, I would recommend him highly!”
“My recent trip to Israel was excellent, and Samuel made a huge difference! Samuel was not only was he very knowledgeable about the sites, history, and culture but also very personable. He took the time to get to know everyone in our group, which is something I find rare in guides. Samuel also was willing to engage in conversation about every aspect of life in Israel: the good, the bad, and the ugly. I enjoyed the balanced dialogue that we had and the respect shown to different points of view. He helped me gain a greater understanding of diversity in Israel, with all of its strengths and weaknesses. In addition to all of that, he’s simply a fun guy to be around. He showed us some new artists and musicians to look up when we got home and even helped us prepare for our dance off with other groups that we met. Go with Samuel, you can’t go wrong. He’s also very good at adapting the tours/ dialogue to the background and interests of his guests. I highly recommend him.”
“Samuel provided a great and thorough background as we traveled across the country. There are so many difficult topics to address ranging from history - religion - to politics, and Samuel was always willing to provide a detailed narrative to help us understand each of our questions better.”
“Samuel was fantastic and his tour led us to reevaluate our views on religion, politics and the holocaust. Samuel’s tour was a relaxing, interesting, funny and thought provoking at the same time. He has the perfect demeanor for this. Definitely the highlight of our Israel trip. I would recommend him to anyone.”
“Samuel was the most wonderful tour guide I could have imagined. He not only informed us about so many interesting facets of Israel, but kept us entertained on the many hours on the bus with his charming British humor and wittiness. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience!”
“Having Samuel as our trip’s guide in Israel was one of the best aspects of the trip. He is a great well of information about Israeli history, music, culture, and anything else you can think of. He was also really engaging for the entire week and kept our groups attention the entire time. Before we came, he researched the kind of topics our group (an IR grad school contingent) would be interested in so he was prepared for all the questions we asked. Also, (as we were studying conflict resolution) I found he gave us a very unbiased perspective of the current happenings in Israel which I really appreciated.”
“Samuel is one of the best tour guides I have ever had. The depth and breadth of his knowledge is truly amazing. He also manages to keep you engaged, even after 6 hours of walking around in the heat. His sense of humor is great, and keeps you hanging on his every word!”
“Samuel is an amazing tour guide! He was our (a group of 40 students) tour guide for a week as we travelled all over Israel. Each day he had a different theme of things we were going to see/learn about, which really helped with processing everything we saw. He introduced us to Israel culture and is very knowledgable about all the sites we visited as well as the history of Israel. He answered all our questions, including silly ones that were just for a laugh. He also made sure to get to know every single person on the trip. It was an incredible experience, made even better by having an amazing guide!”
“From history, legends, geography, music and more, Sam is like a story fountain that never dries. He knows a lot about Israeli music, too. Ask him for recommendations and he will fill your trip with music all along!”
“What can I say about Sam other than he is one of the best guides you can ask for. He is intelligent, funny, and can rap too :) If you want to have a great time in Israel and at the same time learn more about the history of the region, then Sam is the person to call. Highly recommend!”
“Sam is a spectacular guide who makes the stories and history of Israel come to life. A top-notch story teller, nuanced thinker, encyclopedia of knowledge (get him going on the geology of Israel), and all around really nice guy, Sam made our trip absolutely unforgettable.”
“Sam is a phenomenal tour guide. Couldn’t imagine a more knowledgeable or enthusiastic guide! He made the trip far more memorable and special for everyone.”
“Samuel was one of the best tour guides I have experienced anywhere. A full day with 17 friends from Australia touring Israel from Tel Aviv up to Caesaria and points between. He was personable, accommodating and knowledgable. All you want in a guide. Get this guy if you can. He is also a rapper (check out Antithesis on YouTube”
“Sam is one of the greatest guides I’ve ever had- he is a wonderful story teller, knowledgeable about all corners of his beautiful and at times troubled country, sensitive to others’ opinions, entertaining, kind, and patient. Would recommend him highly to anyone, he truly went above and beyond (I was especially touched that he took special care to make sure my dietary restrictions were respected.) Without Sam, I wouldn’t have been able to understand the complexities of Israel half as well.”
“Sam is the best guide I have ever had. Anywhere. Not only does he seriously know his subject, but he knows how to share his knowledge through stories in an amazingly entertaining way. Sam was my guide for a week-long trip throughout Israel and his expertise, personality, and objectiveness absolutely made the experience what it was - educational, rewarding, enriching, fulfilling. He addresses any question or topic that comes up with ease, and his passion for the subject is palpable. He did a great job exposing us to Israeli culture, history, politics, and society anywhere we went. If you are looking for a tour guide in Israel who will provide you with the best experience you could image, Sam is the one you’re looking for. He goes above and beyond without even thinking twice. In a word, he is masterclass.”
“We had the pleasure to have Sam as our tour guide for a week and he was nothing short of amazing, very knowledgeable, high energy, funny, and entertaining.”
“Sam is an excellent guide. He welcomes and is ready for hard and pressing questions, but also knows how to entertain a group and keep us all engaged with the issues. He knows quite a bit about the places we visit, and is always happy to research when he does not. I usually am very much against guided tours, but now I really want Sam to give me more tours of Israel. In all, Sam knows very well how to be the guide his audience needs him to be. This is, I believe, the highest quality a guide could have.”
“Samuel gave a thorough and extremely enjoyable tour through Israel over the course of a week. He was thoughtful in answering a wide array of questions, responsive to our interests, and handled a large group really well. Great sense of humor as well :)”
“Sam is a phenomenal tour guide. He’s extremely knowledgable about the myriad facets of life in Israel as well as the history of the region, and he’s got a great sense of humor. He is honest and forthright in his responses to group questions. I’m very happy to have had him as my guide on my first trip to Israel.”
“Samuel has everything you’d want when looking for a tour guide of Israel from abroad; university studies of the region, native command of both English and Hebrew, and an eagerness to fairly engage in multifaceted discussions about what we’re experiencing. Whether you’re looking for a place for a night out on the town, or historical details about a ruin, Samuel has relevant information in spades. However, I feel like what made Samuel a guide I recommend particularly highly are those characteristics you don’t immediately appreciate. On our trip to Masada, I found out (surprisingly late) our tour had planned on taking a cable car down from a 1,300 foot cliff. I’m uncomfortable taking a ski lift that hoists me more than 40 feet in the air, so this was an extremely daunting task for me. Out of the huge number of people Samuel was responsible for on this tour (42), he noticed that I was really uncomfortable with the height, and went out of his way to talk me through the process, keep an eye on me, and kelp me stay calm on what otherwise would have been a very difficult. I’ve traveled to nearly three dozen nations on four continents in my life. I’ve met tour guides that can talk you through a city for five hours, but can’t give you a hint of a clue about anything he didn’t already plan on saying. Perhaps that’s a function of living in an era where information is so easily and freely accessible, but that only serves to highlight how uniquely informative and genuinely helpful Samuel was. He’s very funny, constantly intriguing, and always ensuring you’re maximizing your time in Israel. I cannot recommend him highly enough.”
“An amazing week long trip with Samuel. He’s a lovely guide with an incredible ability to illustrate history within a cohesive narrative while sprinkling in his vast knowledge of culture, diversity, politics, and socio-economic issues. At the end of the week, we were by no means tired of Samuel and instead wanted to stick around for an additional optional tour.”
“Samuel was an excellent guide!! He answered questions in a very concise and clear manner. He also knew so much about Israel. It was great to have someone who we could ask literally any question. Another thing that separates Samuel is his attention to detail. I wouldn’t travel to Israel without first giving him a call!!”
“One of the highlight of the trip is our awesome tour guide, Mr. Samuel Green. He positively changes my thought of a tour guide when traveling. From now on, I will consider to pick a good guide for my travel when I can. Samuel is very knowledgeable guide who works hard to make sure we are provided sufficient information for any sites he takes us to. Also, he is very caring and responsible guide who knows how to lead and take care the group of 40+ people to have the best time in Israel and Palestine. On top of that, he has a good sense of humor which really entertains the group. I would definitely recommend him to others.”
“It is my first time travel to Israel, so full of curiosity and excitement. Samuel is absolutely the best tour guide that I have ever had. He told us Jewish history and stories with smooth tone, but I can feel that his inner faith connects with the land. He is supper smart, thoughtful, and considerate. If I come back some day, I want to have Samuel as my tour guide again.”
“Incredible trip made possible by "my Israeli tour guide!"”
“For years I have wanted to travel to Israel to see all the sites of one of the most incredible countries in the world! In all the times that I dreamt of going not once did I ever think of hiring a tour guide. To my surprise, having a tour guide was the best decision our group could have made! Samuel brought so much knowledge and fun to the trip and he did such a good job presenting everything in such an unbiased way. I learned so much more than I anticipated and Samuel added so much fun and excitement to the whole trip! When friends ask how to travel in Israel, I will not only recommend a tour guide but I will recommend Samuel; The trip was seriously made possible by him!”
“I’ve been to Israel 5 times now, and Samuel is undoubtedly one of the best guides I have ever had! He is incredibly knowledgeable, funny, well organized, and amazing at what he does. As a trip leader for 42 students, I can vouch for his thoroughness and dedication to my group. It was a pleasure to work with him.”
“Samuel was our tour guide for my school’s MBA spring break trek to Israel. I was looking forward to visiting Israel but I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. Samuel was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of Israel and the past and present cultures that have made their home there. He was patient and thorough answering all kinds of questions from the mundane to the politically charged. He also managed to remain (in my view) incredibly neutral in all of his explanations. Israel is a complicated place and there are many different points of view and opinions on what has happened and what should happen. Samuel always addressed all sides and he presented a nuanced multi-cultural view of Israel. Samuel is also a friendly, funny, easy-going guy and would be great for trips of all sizes.”
“Samuel far exceeded my already high expectations. He did an excellent job in teaching us about the complicated history of every single site and never seemed to be stumped. I never once heard him say the phrase "I don’t know." In addition, he remained neutral in his explanations, leading to a very nuanced and educational experience. However, most importantly, he has a great sense of humor and an amazing personality!”
“Samuel made our group’s trip to Israel such an incredible experience! He is incredibly knowledgable about the area, full of enriching stories and anecdotes, and extremely open to input and questions allowing you to really make your experience abroad your own. He truly exceeded all of my expectations for this trip and I would recommend him as the perfect guide for anyone hoping to visit Israel!”
“My wife and I came to Israel through my Business School’s MBA Trek, which was organized via My Israel Guide. The entire trip was outstanding in every regard--from hotel stay to eating, experiencing the culture to religion, and contemporary Israel to ancient country. It was truly a very humbling and wholesome experience on all levels (spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and socially). I without a doubt believe the trip was made safe and great through My Israel Guide, and our wonderful tour guide (Samuel Green--he was excellent!). It was very fun, very educational, and very open minded. The 10 day trip will truly be one of my most memorable trips ever. It would be foolish to experience Israel for what it is without this guide.”
“Samuel gave a nuanced, full view of the country. I believe he made the trip for many of our travelers. He made sure to connect individually with each individual traveler and was extremely patient and forthcoming with any and all questions. What a trip and what a guide!”
“Samuel’s intricate knowledge of politics, history and geography make him a perfect tour guide for a place as beautiful and complex as Israel. He has a wonderful sense of humor, an amazing music collection and very importantly, lots of patience. Hats off!”
“I helped lead a large group of 80 students to Israel last year. The task was imposing, but thankfully we had Sam as one of our guides. The bus that toured with Sam has nothing but good things to say about him - he is informative, humorous, kind, and caring. Our group will be using him every year for years to come as long as Sam is in the business!”
“Sam is BY FAR the best tour guide I’ve ever had. Hands down. I went on a group trip to Israel with 35 Wharton students, and was SO fortunate to have him as our guide. I learned more about the geography, history and conflicts in Israel within the first 15 minutes of Sam’s first lecture than I had in the entire quarter we spent studying the country leading up to the trip. He was impressively objective in his presentation of Israel’s history, society and politics. Our group literally couldn’t stump him with any questions - he knew his facts inside and out. I wish he could cover more countries - I’d travel with him everywhere.”
“I am generally not a fan of tour guides. I have a short attention span, so when I’m with a tour group I tend to either a) zone out or b) break from the group and explore on my own. However, Sam is anything but an ordinary tour guide; he is a delightfully quirky and vastly knowledgeable character who is full of wonderful surprises. My group toured with Sam over the course of a week in Israel, and I absolutely would not want to have seen Israel for the first time any other way. I left Israel feeling a deep sense of awe and appreciation for the country, thanks to Sam’s thoughtful, inquisitive, and comprehensive guidance. He answered any and all questions from our group, even if they were complicated or sensitive. What a wonderful experience! I give Sam my highest endorsement and encourage anyone who is looking for an incredible tour of Jerusalem, Tel Aviv or any other part of Israel to talk to My Israeli Guide.”
“Sam did an exceptional job leading our tour group of 35+, keeping all of us regaled with extremely accurate and deep historical facts as well as interesting tales and anecdotes while touring Jerusalem, Jaffa, Tel Aviv and Haifa. I would highly recommend Sam to anyone planning to visit Israel.”
“A really interesting afternoon with an excellent guide”
“We asked Sam Green to put together an afternoon coach tour for friends coming to a family wedding the next day. most guests had been to Israel a number of times so we wanted to tKe them to places they might not have visited before. The region was around Lake Kinneret and Sam suggested Capernaum, Hamat Tiberias and the Kinneret Cemetery, all really interesting. Sam gave us lots of information and connected the sites together very well with the interesting theme of community. We ended up with tea at Beit Gavriel at a Circassian restaurant with a gorgeous view over the Kinneret. Altogether an excellent afternoon expertly guided.”
“Samuel had a deep knowledge of seemingly everything we visited. His insight into the religious sites in Jerusalem, the history in Jaffa and the culture that has shaped Tel Aviv were invaluable. I would certainly recommend him to anyone looking to get the most out of their trip to Israel.”
“Fascinating and breathataking bespoke and personal tour of The Jezreel Valley, Lower Galilee and Haifa”
“Samuel shows a passion and enthusiasm for Israel that is unparalleled. His story-telling really brings sites to life in an engaging and enthralling manner. We started the day long tour visiting Tel Megiddo (otherwise known as Armageddon, the site of the battle during the end of times). Before arriving, Samuel brilliantly put the site into context, carefully explaining it’s relevance and history. In particular I admired the patience and great detail in which he described the progression of conquerors and settlers in the area. My favourite part of the site was the tunneled water system, a remarkable feat dating back more than 3000 years. After a visit to the museum we traveled North to the idyllic Bethlehem of the Galilee. We learnt how olive oil was made and even sampled some. Samuel was very much open to discussion and we heartily debated if Jesus was perhaps born in the Galilee or Judea in the South. On the way out of the "village" we stopped at a local spice factory where I tried many tasteful morsels and got to buy some presents including the wonderful halva (a sweet made from sesame seeds). We then continued west on the road to the sea and Haifa where we visited the Stella Maris Church and nearby cave of Elijah. It was a most holy and spiritual way to end the day which was then topped off by a tremendous sunset, viewable on the coastal drive back down to Tel Aviv. Samuel is attentive, personable and a gifted guide and entertainer. I would highly recommend him for his tours around Israel and the region (and personally I am discussing with him now about where I would like to see next).”
“Samuel is a GEM!! His storytelling is second to none and his enthusiasm for the country, its history and the special out of the way places makes touring with him extra special. We toured Ramla with him this year - but will definitely be back to tour with him again next year.”
“I work in tourism in Jerusalem but have never really had a full guided tour in Tel Aviv. Today I enjoyed a full day tour of Tel Aviv and Jaffa with a few friends and it was absolutely beyond my expectations. We began the day with a tour through Jaffa and then on through Neve Tzedek and the early neighborhoods of Tel Aviv. The strength of Samuel’s tour was his ability to weave a thread of stories through different time periods and different subjects, mixing in the 'famous’ sites, some off the beaten track places and also some personal anecdotes. He is a master story teller - his tales are at once funny, charming, emotive and filled with suspense. Not everyone thinks of hiring a guide to tour Tel Aviv but I would highly highly recommend a day with Samuel. (Plus we had amazing ice cream).”
“Passion for the country, education, communication and people”
“Samuel’s guiding evidently builds on a deep lifelong interest in Israel, its history, people and politics, all combined in an intelligent, witty, engaging style. Guiding group of mixed knowledge, origin and experience of the country, he really catered for everyone, engaging the group and its individuals, and building a theme to thread superficially quite diverse locations (spanning two Christian and two Jewish sites, and 2500+ years of landscape history in between). His knowledge of sites, history and interpretation from the multiple religious and political perspectives that characterise the region is excellent. Highly recommended whether young, old, seasoned traveller, backpacker or executive (which seems to cover our group).”
“Samuel catered a day-long tour of Jerusalem for 20+ friends from all over the world, many visiting Israel for the first time although others had been before. He was highly prepared and knowledgeable, flexible, and had a great sense of humor. The whole group left feeling educated and awed at how much we had learned about such a deeply spiritual and historical place and also amused at the humorous tidbit Samuel wove in. He knew to leave time for food, bathroom, and shopping breaks at the right times - fantastic day!”
“My friend and I had an amazing first experience of Israel thanks to Samuel. We had only 2 days in Jerusalem and Samuel managed to pack all the main sites we wanted to see. He gave full explanations of the context and history of each site without forgetting our background.. He is a very open-minded person and dedicated to his passion. We are very grateful for having met him! We must come back in this such beautiful country!”
“Samuel is a master of framing his tour in a way that makes everyone curious, invited, and welcomed, regardless of background. He shares sophisticated expertise in a way that is unbiased and accessible to all. One of the best tour guides I’ve ever had.”
“Funny, approachable but most of all KNOWLEDGEABLE.”
“We spent an afternoon with Samuel touring the area around Tiberias. Our group was both large and very diverse, yet Samuel managed to keep us all interested, informed and entertained. Whether it was discussing an early CE church or a 2000 year old synagogue, to the particular geological strata associated with the Golan, Samuel depth and breadth of knowledge is truly remarkable. This, coupled with the the ability to put everything across so concisely that even the non-native english speakers understood, made our trip truly memorable.”
“What is better than an interresting and funny guide ?”
“Samuel is a very good guide, who manages to be both interresting and funny. He knows his job and he obviously loves it ! I would higly recommend him for guiding your visits. And if you speak French, you will be amazed by his skills in "argot" and "verlan", which he speaks with a delicious british accent !”
“I had occasion to be part of a group tour to sites in Tiberius with tour guide Samuel Green. Not only was Samuel personable, knowledgeable and possessed of a great sense of humour, but he also managed to bring a great deal of innovation to the short trip. He made the various places we visited come alive.”
“Samuel was an excellent guide during my trip to Israel! He is extremely knowledgeable, well-spoken and really made sure that my whole group was well taken care of. He was able to answer absolutely any question that anyone in my group had. Personally, I came across an incident with a cashier at a store near Masada, and Samuel was quick to help me deal with my situation and come to a resolution without hesitation. Anyone would be extremely lucky to have a tour guide such as Samuel for their trip to Israel.”
“Samuel has advanced degrees in Hebrew Studies and is obviously very well-educated and well-spoken. He really has a passion for education and history. I encourage people on his tours to ask about the different cultures and peoples in the region. There is a lot to learn and ask about, for not just Jewish audiences but all people interested in negotiations and history and culture.”
“Excellent and Extraordinarily Knowledgeable Guide!”
“Samuel is an excellent guide and the perfect person to take you around Israel. He understands his audience and wants to cater as much of the tour to the audience at hand. He is also willing to answer any question about Israel or any country that is surrounding the area and that significantly enhanced my experience. He is extraordinarily funny, has a charming way of talking (and the British accent helps), and is very warm. I will hope to be in touch with him again if I return to Israel!”
“Samuel did a tremendous job conducting a terrific 7 day guided tour of Israel for our business school trip in June 2015. Samuel was extremely knowledgeable about all facets of Biblical history and Israeli modern life. He was able to answer all of our questions, and in dealing with modern, controversial topics, did so in a way that presented both sides objectively that led to more enriching questions and conversations. Further, Samuel displayed his ability to corral a large (often party-inclined) crowd by injecting the right balance of commentary and detail, as well as introducing other topics, such as an "Ask Me Anything" question book and by highlighting modern Israeli songs and music. He was able to direct ~50 of us on guided walking tours, not a small feat when in small, crowded areas. If I returned to Israel again, I would again love for Samuel to be our guide. I would highly recommend him for any group, small or large, looking for a highly knowledgeable, pleasant and fun guide of Israel.”
“He made our trip an incredible experience. Really prepared and passionate about Israel and all the topics around it. He showed us a wide range of information and themes accompanied with a unique sense of humor that gave to unity and interest to the group. Totally recommended! :) ...Also, loved the dynamic of the song of the day!”
“I saw another review that stated "1 part walking encyclopedia, 1 part storyteller, 1 part stand-up comedian". Couldn’t have stated it better. Sam made our trip absolutely incredible. He’s someone who passionately cares about what he does. Who wouldn’t want a tour a Cambridge educated guide for one of the most historically rich areas of the world?”
“Incredible guide!!! Combination of humour, great knowledge, passion about history, cultures and music and humble”
“Samuel Green was amazing, he was passionate about history and had a lot of knowledge. He was opened to answer any question and explain the facts very clear. Great sense of humour and he had innovative ideas to make the trip more interesting and funny. Highly recommended!!!!!”
“It is a completely new and fun experience for me to be in Israel. Thanks for Sam as a good story teller, demonstrating the history from two narratives in such a fun way. Highly recommend!”
“Amazing tour around Israel with most knowledgeable and humorous guide”
“I toured around Israel for a week with Sam as our guide. Sam is a fantastic guide. He is extremely knowledgeable and can answer complex questions logically and immediately. He is also very humorous. His jokes created a lot fun for us, not to mention his performance as an ancient Jewish leader. He is also a very good cheerleader and taught us some middle-eastern dance moves on the bus, making the time on bus also exciting.”
“Samuel was an amazing guide in our one week trip to Israel. He is energetic, enthusiastic and knows very well how to read his crowd’s interests. Over the whole week he always kept us having fun and learning new things. He has a great knowledge of the country, its history and many interesting facts that as a turist you would like to know. I have been in Israel with other tour guides for many times and he is by far the best one I have seen. Strongly recommend him for your future travel plans in Israel!!!”
“It is my trip #7 in Israel and this is the best guide that I ever had. Samuel is really passionate about showing Israel, teaching people about culture, religious, politic issues, etc. As I said before, this is not my first time in Israel and I had visited the same places many times, but the way in which Samuel explained everything made trip more enjoyable and interactive!”
“Samuel made sure our trip to Ramle was both fun, divserse and interesting. I left the day feeling like I had really explored all the secrets of the city whilst at the same time tasting the best food in the area! Samuel’s guiding style is dynamic and interesting; he made sure all the group were catered for young and old.”
“I toured Israel for about a week with Samuel as my tour guide. He was extremely knowledgeable, patient, and receptive to questions. Samuel was also very caring of our group in terms of keeping us hydrated and safe - he treated us like family. I was impressed by his extensive knowledge on the area’s history, geography, politics, religions, foods, and international relations. All in all a terrific experience!”
“Fantastic day hiking in the north - amazing experience”
“I had a fantastic day hiking with Samuel in the north! Highly recommend him - he really knows his stuff (the geography, history, culture, everything), and has such an inspirational passion for the country and its visitors. As well as fun/education, it’s also so important when you’re out and about in nature (especially in the heat, climbing over rocks etc) that you trust the person guiding you - Samuel always had our safety and wellbeing in mind. I think this sensible attitude towards risk makes him a great hiking guide for people who are a bit wary or inexperienced (or with their kids / older people), as well as groups who are very used to hiking. Samuel really makes sure that everyone gets the best out of the hike, and that it’s fun, educational and uplifting whatever their background. Really hope to have him as a guide again in future, for hikes or just general touring - I got so much more out of the day than I would have otherwise.”
“Great tour! Samuel was very knowledgeable, able to answer any question we had, and also did a nice job of adjusting to the pace of the group. Highly recommended!”
“Samuel is the most articulate, informed, professional tour guide I’ve ever encountered. Our group of 50 or so international-relations graduate students was with him for a week in March 2015, touring sites of religious, historical, and political significance all over Israel. His knowledge extends far beyond the typical tourist-oriented subjects, and he has a keen grasp of the current political and social currents in Israel and the history that led to their development. Informative, entertaining, and eminently prepared, Samuel will make your trip to Israel an unforgettable one!”
“Samuel’s tour was the absolute highlight of our trip to Israel. Samuel is an expert in the region (he graduated from Cambridge in Oriental studies), and knows how to share his knowledge in a fun and engaging way. Moreover, anybody fortunate to have Samuel as a guide, will be able to discover many of the off the beaten path parts of Israel, that are simply impossible to experience without "insider" knowledge--I had been to Israel before on a guided trip, and Samuel’s tour proved to be an excellent upgrade into encountering the hidden spots of Israel. If you’re a foodie, get ready for some amazing treats! Samuel took us to little local gems that we still dream about! Hands down Samuel is an extraordinary guide, with a passion for sharing his knowledge and love of the land and all it offers with others.”
“I visited Israel for the first time this March with a small group of 9 people while on spring break from our MBA program at Berkeley. We were blown away by what we experienced of the country with Sam. We spent 3 nights and 4 days traversing Israel, exploring Jerusalem, the Dead Sea, various points of interest along Galilee, Golan Heights, and Bethlehem. We had an incredibly diverse group with more than half of us coming from different international backgrounds, and Sam catered to all of our interests just so well. Because there were a few Catholics in the group, Sam made sure to highlight sites of importance to us through our travels - all the while with a sense of humor and so much warmth. One of my favorite memories of Sam is of him taking us to Masada and using some acting to bring the stories behind the last Jewish stronghold to life. I left Israel blown away by my experience, fully intending to come back with family on another tour with Sam. I cannot recommend Sam enough - he opened all of our eyes to Israel in a way that I don’t think would have been possible with another tour guide. Thank you, Sam!”
“I have visited Israel multiple times and Sam has been the guide unlocking this fascinating country. The combination of his personality, his humor, knowledge and love for the country and language makes him the ideal tour guide to discover the country. He has build the trip in such a way that it suited my interests (history, nature and food in my case). I can warmly recommend Sam to anybody wanting to discover Israel.”
“Samuel’s tour made my trip to Israel one of the best ones in my life. He always went above and beyond to make EVERYTHING interesting. Sam is both very knowledgeable and very fun to be with. Highly recommendable!”
“Samuel was the guide for nearly fifty of us on a week long trip through Israel that took us to Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Masada, and the Golan Heights. Dealing with fifty twenty-somethings on Spring Break would be a daunting task for any mere mortal, but Samuel was a picture of calm and didactic grace. He is as comfortable discussing the location of the best hummus and pastries in Tel Aviv as he is explaining the archaeological complexities of the Western Wall. I recommend him as highly as possible.”
“I was fortunate enough to meet Sam during a trip I took to Israel with several classmates. Travelling to new countries is a passion of mine, and I’ve used plenty of guided services during my travels. But my trip to Israel with Sam was different - never before have I ever walked away from a trip feeling so filled with knowledge on culture, history, food, and religion. Sam didn’t just show us his home, he made us a part of his home. His passion for Israel is contagious, and he certainly shows it with every ounce of energy he puts into making your trip a memorable experience. Simply put... Sam was the best guide I’ve ever had in my life... and because of him, my trip to Israel is something I’ll remember for the rest of my life. I can’t wait to go back :-).”
“We went on a trip to Israel with both Jewish and non-Jewish people in their late 20’s to early 30’s. I can say that Sam did a great job and was able to easily appeal to all of us with his tour. Whether religious or not Jewish, everyone was entertained and very impressed by Sam, who made our experience in Israel that much better. I highly recommend him for tours of this beautiful country!”
“Two friends and I joined one of Samuel’s tours called Visionaries of Tel Aviv. I know the city pretty well but never had I been told its history that way. Samuel’s well constructed narrative, combined with an amazing breadth of knowledge and pleasant delivery made it an excellent experience. My two friends, one familiar with Tel Aviv, the other one on her first trip, were also enthused over the tour. The walking pace was right, there was never information overload and we covered so much without noticing. I would definitely join any other tours and would strongly recommend Samuel as a tour guide to anyone who wants to explore Israel with an insightful and fun guide.”
“This guy is the most knowledgeable and interesting tour guide around. He has a knack for knowing when to talk and when to be quiet. He knows EVERYTHING, and when he doesn’t, he will tell you he isn’t sure but will give it a whirl (I appreciate this in a guide). I also thought he was extremely sensitive to cultural and religious differences among our group. He superbly managed that delicate balance of telling history without opinion or criticism. There was never a dull moment and the hours flew. What an articulate and bright fellow.”
“Great tour experience - first time to Israel; Can’t wait to go back!”
“Samuel was the perfect guide for our group. He was both extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I’ve always wanted to travel to Israel, and Samuel was very patient and thorough with his explanations of the history and culture. There were 60+ people in our group and he was able to give everyone personalized attention during our 10 day trip. Even better was his ability to relate to my culture. As an American, he could frame his discussion from the Israeli perspective as well as my culture’s perspective. I would highly recommend Samuel to future tour groups!”
“I’ve been on lots of tours all over the world with lots of different guides. It was the unanimous decision of our group that Samuel gave the BEST tour we’ve ever had. It was personal, funny, informative, and even themed! His knowledge was incredibly deep and relevant. The time he took to show us places that were not only significant to the history of the country but also to him personally made us feel like we were on the tour with a local friend. It was really a cut above. If I ever go back to Israel, I’m calling Samuel.”
“Samual is a fun and funny tour guide. He took us on an interesting trip to Ramle, to sites most Israeli’s dont even know about. We started the day learning about the Karaite Jews, then ate some yummy burekas from the shuk, we also visited a beautiful church and ended the day at a cool reservoir called the Arches Pools were we took a fun boat ride. Samuel is great. Very knowledgable and will gladly answer all of your questions.”
“Had a great tour with Samuel in Jaffa! He was extremely well prepared for the tour, both in terms of organization and knowledge. The tour was filled with lots of interesting and amusing stories, keeping everyone engaged and entertained throughout. Most importantly, he interacted with the participants, demonstrating the utmost flexibility in taking the tour in directions that the participants wanted. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!”
“Samuel’s five-day tour of Israel was life-changing. We started in Tel Aviv, spent the night in a Bedouin camp in the desert (complete with camel ride!) then woke to hike Masada at sunrise, soak in the Dead Sea, tour the tunnels of Jerusalem, dance on tabletops, explore the ancient city, be moved by Yad Vashem, take in the Sea of Galilee and wander the Golan Heights. Any one of these experiences would have been transformative, but the whole week with Samuel was beyond incredible! Along the way, Samuel’s wit and wisdom enlightened us. He was so knowledgeable and hilarious! One of the best parts of the trip was how diplomatic Samuel was with his historical knowledge. This is a part of the world where religions collide, emotions run high and "truth" is relative. Samuel did an amazing job of explaining historical significance without a personal or political slant, so I felt like we learned even more of the nuance of events. If you’re keen to learn as much as to see the sights, Samuel is the perfect guide. And he’ll tailor the tour to what you’re interested in learning most, including the best fabric in the souk!”
“Sam is simply a unique tour guide. I recently went on a tour of Ramle with him, and he uncovered gems - bringing to life a city I would have never known about. He is as knowledgeable as he is fun, and I would highly recommend to all!”
“Samuel spent a whole day with three couples. We toured Old Jaffa and Tel Aviv and he did an outstanding job. He is very personable and knows his subject in great depth. We travel all over the world and have used many guides. He is one of the best we have ever had!”
“I think its pretty likely that 20 years from now I still consider Samuel the best tour guide I have ever had. He is completely knowledgable on any subject related to Israel, and he is hilariously entertaining throughout the trip. He took the time to learn everybody’s name on our entire bus (30 people), and learn where we came from. I can easily recommend paying a premium price to obtain him as your tour guide, it will be well worth it.”
“Had an incredible time with Samuel going to various cities and sites across Israel. He was funny, knowledgeable, concise, and engaging. Hands down the best tour guide I’ve ever had. Highly, highly recommend!”
“This is the finest Guide in the entire country , and All tour operators rate him so . He is British , educated at Cambridge, with an engaging personality. We all ( 6 of us ) hated parting with him as we enjoyed his company that much . Going to Israel , from the US is not inexpensive so you want the right guide . Sam is the one , big plan an booking him well in advance cause he in in great demand by many including all the Ivy League Schools for their graduate programs .”
“This trip far exceeded my expectations and it had everything to do with our guide, Sam. He was so knowledgeable and balanced and entertaining - I would not have had the same level of insight or fun had Sam not been with us!”
“Unforgettable and enlightening trip around Israel!”
“Samuel exceeded all expectations as a tour guide and somehow managed to juggle explaining complicated history and shepherding 50 exhausted students. This was my first time visiting Israel and I am confident that Samuel gave us a comprehensive and unbiased overview of the various topics that our tour covered. We traveled across Israel in a matter of a few days and Samuel expertly navigated us through the trip with light humor, grace, and an open mind. Would recommend him to any newcomers, regulars, or just plain old curious people.”
“Samuel is an amazing person, and a proffessional tour guide. He is FUNNY and caring, remembered names for over 45 members of our delegation in just a couple of days. I was born and raised in Israel and still managed to learn so many new things thanks to Samuel. There wasn’t a question asked he didn’t know how to answer. FOR A MEMORABLE TRIP IN THE BEAUTIFUL ISRAEL - CALL SAM”
“Samuel led our delegation of 50 graduate students across Israel with grace, humor, and energy! He is able to discuss complex and contested histories and dialogues with balance and insight - and when appropriate humor! I highly recommend Samuel as a tour guide if you’re looking to laugh, learn, and eat great food!”
“Samuel guided us through a week trip throughout Israel. He is a very knowledgable, approachable, and reliable guide for us. Thank you for a great trip, Sam!”
“Samuel guided us through an 8 day trip in Jerusalem, the Dead Sea region, the Golan Heights, Tel Aviv, and around the Sea of Galilee. He even connected us with a local Palestinian guide to explore a day in Bethlehem. Throughout it all, Samuel helped us keep track of historical, religious and cultural themes we were seeing, all while making sure we were well-fed and having fun. He set up a perfect and well-planned activity and gave us the choice to use time as we needed—so sometimes bus rides involved humorous but insightful historical overviews and sometimes we took some needed quiet time—Samuel was flexible, skilled and both good at reading the group’s energy and solicitous of our opinion. All-in-all, Samuel is a great guide!”
“Samuel is truly an incredible guide. We spent a week with him and he is so well-informed and funny. We went from very serious and heavy topics to jokes seamlessly throughout the day. I could not have asked for a better guide and highly recommend him.”
“Great fun, knowledgeable, humorous and organised”
“I organised a tour of the old city in Jerusalem for our wedding guests with Samuel. It was quite a sizeable tour with a real mixture of ages and interests (and languages!) and the feedback from all the guests was how superbly managed the tour was and how Samuel covered so much with fantastic knowledge and humour. With so much other stuff going on for us to organise at that time, Samuel was so helpful in arranging the tour and I felt very comfortable leaving our guests in his capable hands. Highly recommended! Thank you Samuel!”
“Samuel was an amazing guide. He took time to find out our interests and tailored the tour to suit our requests. He was so knowledgable and interesting. I think without him Jerusalem would have been overwhelming and we would not have learnt nearly as much. Add in the culinary tour which he had organised and we ended up with the 'ultimate’ experience. We can not speak highly enough of how much thought that Samuel had invested into our day. Can’t wait for future tours. Thanks.”
“Samuel took two friends and I on a guided tour of Jerusalem. We had a truly amazing day! Prior to the tour, he took time to understand our interests to curate the most appropriate trip for us which included a tour of the old city of Jerusalem and a culinary tour. It was a perfectly balanced day as the first part of the tour was intensive and loaded with information, and the second part (culinary tour) was light hearted and a great way to expose us to cuisines that we were not familiar with. I highly recommend Samuel to anyone looking for a guided tour of Jerusalem. He is brilliant and I will certainly use him again if I visit Jerusalem.”
“Samuel was fun and informative the entire day. Jerusalem would have been very overwhelming without his guidance. He painted a picture for you from a historical and arciological standpoint. Nothing about the tour was bias and he encouraged questions. An interested observation was also how people recognized him from past tours and where excited to see reconnect. Not too mention we ate the best food on the trip because we were with Samuel. I’d highly recommend anyone that wants to go to Jerusalem should do so with Samuel as their guide.”
“I cannot express how incredible my tour with Samuel and my friends went . Samuel communicates weeks / months prior and curated a trip perfectly to our request with some cool extra sites added in. The ride to Jerusalem was an experience in itself as Samuel goes over historical events and gives a summary of past and present Israel . Our Jerusalem tour was filled with insight and knowledge that I would not have gotten anywhere else . Samuel had a perfect day set up and even let us wander to see different things and different shops . It was the best of both worlds as far as a tour could be . A ton of knowledge but also freedom to ask questions and really learn Jerusalem . I already have recommended Samuel to friends and family and felt it necessary to make an account and do it here as well. My friends and I walked around for hours and every minute was filled with knowledge and understanding of Jerusalem . Samuel brings an incredible personality to an incredible place and it worked out so well for my friends and I . Our trip wouldn’t have been half of what it was without him. Thank you Samuel !! 5 star tour with 5 star guide .”
“I originally contact Samuel when I was looking for a private tour of Jerusalem for our trip. From his initial reply until the end of our trip he was beyond helpful and easy to get along with. He even sent me a text when I arrived in Tel Aviv confirming everything and offering his help if I needed anything. Our trip was without flaw, was exciting, engaging, and most of all, fun. Meeting Samuel was like hanging out with an old friend. I can not recommend Samuel more. He is the best out there, do not hesitate to use him!”
“Encyclopedic level of historical, religious and archeological knowledge presented very well and easy to understand to a large group on a BUSY DAY. A Gentleman Scholar!”
“My friend and I booked a private tour of Israel with Samuel, and we are so happy that we did. Samuel helped us plan our trip so that we could see all and only the sites that we wanted to see while avoiding sites in which we were not interested. Samuel’s planning was meticulous, and in our five-day tour with Samuel, we were able to see all of the major religious sites in Israel as well as many historical sites. Never once, though, did we feel rushed, nor did we ever feel that the tour was moving too slowly or dragging. Samuel’s knowledge of both the ancient history of Israel and contemporary history of the modern state is encyclopedic. He is extremely well read and knowledgeable about even the most seemingly trivial details. Moreover, Samuel is quite affable and gregarious with a great sense of humor yet without being intrusive. He’s just a genuinely fun person with whom to hang out. Just as an aside to show what a great guide Samuel is, he asked before the trip even began if my friend and I had any dietary restrictions, and I let him know that I am vegan. Samuel went out of his way to make sure that every restaurant in which we dined was one that had vegan options. Not once did I have any problems finding something that I could eat–and something quite good as well. Should any of my friends or family members travel to Israwl in the future, I will very strongly advise them to book a private tour with Samuel Green.”
“Samuel was an amazing tour guide that was very knowledgeable and could always provide an answer on the given topic. Whether we had questions about historical sites, people, politics or culture he was able to give us an answer. Thank you Sam it was an amazing trip!”
“Memorable start, Meaningful end, all together a great day for us”
“Samuel started with a great story in my opinion, extremely witty & he ended with what we were looking for -> a great summary to the place we were visiting. Thank you again Samuel for such a wonderful experience. Teo”
“What an amazingly knowledgeable and down to earth tour guide”
“Samuel Green is the best tour guide in Israel. He is Jewish, but he is very knowledgeable about the New Testament as well as the old. He made every site come alive with biblical references and historico-cultural explanations. Plus he knows where the best eats are and he has the most amazing Israeli music playlist I had ever heard! You can’t go wrong with this tour guide. He will go above and beyond to ensure you have the best experience in Israel.”
“Samuel was so flexible and easy to make arrangements with, he was a very engaging guide who had great knowledge but also explained everything in a logical and easy to understand manner”
“Samuel is the absolute best. I spent 10 days in a group that was led by Samuel around Israel. He was extremely knowledgeable but also knew how to make the boring bus rides a lot more fun and enjoyable.”
“Our tour guide Samuel Green was amazing! He kept us interested, and he is very knowledgeable and is open to discussing topics relating to the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, racial, and religious issues. He engaged with us, and made the trip very exciting. He also allotted time for our group to express our African American heritage through song and dance. -Tisha”
“Wish I could give 10 stars... If you want all the Israel has to offer, you need Sam as your tour guide- aka Antithesis ( yes, he’s a British rapper with some sick rhymes- ask him to rap for you and sure you buy his record) . He knows his stuff and loves answering questions! Sam has lived in Israel for quite sometime and is EXTREMELY knowledgeable about anything and everything in relation to Israel and the middle east. He knows all of the hot food spots, music ,and Israels best hidden secrets. He’s so SWEET! You’ll fall in love with his accent and upbeat attitude. Sam provides the best lens of Israel- I’m already planning on my next trip back and will definitely be hitting him up. Chose Sam and get ready for the ride of your life!”
“Samuel goes above and beyond to make sure you’re learning the rich history of Israel while enjoying every minute of it! He is one of the most knowledgeable people I’ve met and I can honestly say my trip to Israel wouldn’t have been the same without him! Samuel bridges the gap between cultures to show that we as humans share more similarities than differences. Not only a great guide, but a genuinely amazing human♥️ Samuel is truly a pleasure to learn from....I highly recommend!!! 10/10!!”
“Samuel is The ABSOLUTE GREATEST Tour Guide Ever!!!!! His warm, welcoming spirit, coupled with his passion and genuine love for Israel along with his high level of education and awareness of the history of Israel was simply incredible! If you are looking for a boring and uneducated guide then don’t choose Sam! But if you want someone full of energy, passage and overwhelming knowledge about the history of Israel, Sams your man!!! San thank you for leading us on a life changing trip!! It would not have been the same without you!! 💛Karri”
“Sam was an AMAZING guide and made my trip better than i could have imagined. He treated our group as we were his family and included us in havdala after Shabbat. Touring with Sam gave me an authentic feel in israel and allowed us really connect with the Holy Land. He truly was amazing!”
“I came on this trip to learn about Israel, and Samuel taught me so much more. He is very informative and just all around great guy. When I return to Jerusalem I wouldn’t want anyone else to show me around but him. His wealth of knowledge is unparalleled to any other guide in Jerusalem”
“Sam is hands down the best guide I’ve had in my entire life. I cannot sing Sam’s praises enough. He is intelligent, engaging, knowledgeable, caring, and, hilarious yet firm enough to keep a tight schedule. In 10 days Sam guided me and a group of 42 others around the entire country of Israel. This man might really know everything, and managed to make it all easily digestible and relatable. His ability to break down complex issues and convey the wealth of knowledge he has on the history of Israel is incredible. Sam even went the extra mile to take time out of his day to do extra research to enable himself to be even more relatable to our diverse group. Frankly, 5 stars and 1000 characters isnt enough for me to sing his praises. Thank you Sam for everything and being an amazing guide.”
“Engaging, informed, wicked smart, and kind are words that just begin to describe Samuel Green. He catered to the particular interests of our group by molding our itinerary uniquely around us. Not only did we get to see the sights, but we got to hear the sounds, smell the smells, and taste the tastes of this wonderful country. Samuel’s guiding helped us engage with Israel fully, with all of our senses. It was an experience I will never forget thanks to the extraordinary guidance of Samuel Green.”
“I have had the opportunity to travel to Israel twice, and on both occasions, I had the true joy of being able to explore the country with Samuel. He is an extraordinarily dedicated guide and he did an excellent job connecting with all the students in our group of 41. Not only did Samuel’s expertise and wit provide us with an amazing experience, but he inspired us by sharing his own passion and love for what he does. It is largely because of Samuel that I desired to return to Israel the second time (and hopefully many more times to come). After each of my trips, Samuel made himself available to everyone and still answers any questions that I have whenever I message him. I am happy to know that I not only got to see a wonderful country alongside an amazing guide, but I also made a new friend.”
“Samuel is the best tour guide ever! He is extremely knowledgeable on a plethora of subjects, which makes the tours very educational and worthwhile! He is a great storyteller; he can tell the story behind the history of a site, and you’re never bored because he is telling the story with great expressions, gestures, and inflection. Plus, he is super funny, so you can always have a laugh. He was constantly making me smile and laugh-he is just such a light-hearted, joyful person! If you are ever thinking about doing a tour, call Samuel! You won’t be disappointed. He is a joyful, respectful, adventurous, funny, and caring man-he is the best!”
“Samuel, known by many native locals as one of Israel’s best tour guides, is 24/7 available to those he takes under his wing to answer any question about said trip, give suggestions, and get to know. One of my favorite things about Samuel is his genuine openness to his own life in how he relates to the endless information that he shares of both ancient and modern Israel, and how its history relates to ancient and modern politics and religion. He goes above and beyond the required sites/events when exposing the tourists to the best tastes of the culture.”
“Samuel was kind, patient, and extremely dedicated to giving my group an amazing experience in Israel! He is a wealth of knowledge and truly went the extra mile in every way.”
“Experiencing Israel for the first, second, tenth time is an amazing experience. Experiencing Israel with Samuel as your tour guide is a treasured and memorable experience. Samuel is a practicing Orthodox Jew who invites people to experience the culture of Israel––both modern and ancient. I traveled in Israel for 10 days with my college to explore the Biblical significance of the Holy Land in addition to learning about the modern state of Israel and the contemporary political challenges it faces. Samuel has a broad swath of knowledge in the history of the Bible and the significance of holy sites, the establishment of the modern state of Israel, and the current circumstances of the Israeli/Palestinian Conflict. Samuel pushed our group in an encouraging way to keep our energy up so we could visit as many sites as possible (including special sites like an olive oil factory and a dates factory). He lovingly included us in his observance of Shabbat in a special way and introduced us to Israeli music by unveiling a daily Song of the Day on the tour bus. He patiently, respectfully, and intelligently answered our questions that we wrote in the Question Book and entertained us with his Biblical limericks. To top it off, he gifted us with his own personal CD on the last day of the trip (yes, he is an Israeli DJ with a British accent and he’s the coolest). With Samuel, you’ll not only get an informative and memorable Israel tour experience but you’ll also walk away with a new friend.”
“You could travel all the way to Israel, and hire some mediocre guide that points out the Dome of the Rock and then goes home. Or, you could travel all the way to Israel and hire Samuel Green. Informative, passionate and a great storyteller, Samuel will show you an Israel that very few people have ever seen. He even raps. Samuel told our group he’d push us, and he doesn’t lie. We saw Israel from the Golan Heights, to the Dead Sea. From Biblical times, to contemporary politics. We saw more of a country in ten days than I’ve seen of my home state in ten years. And he never left us confused, always answered our questions and always made sure everyone was on the same page. Hire him.”
“I traveled to Israel with my college to learn about the historical and biblical significance of the Holy Land as well as its contemporary political and sociological challenges. Samuel offered his thorough knowledge and well-developed perspective on these controversial subjects with cogency, honesty, and humility. His intellectual acuity was surpassed only by his impeccable sense of humor and inimitable personality. You will not find another tour guide who composes limericks about biblical history and tour-sites for his group, teaches them Israeli folk dancing, or who creates mixtape CDs for every member of his tour group. Samuel is the type of person that you would love to know even if he weren’t a tour guide. But he is! So, if you go on a tour with him, prepare for a deeply enriching, life-changing experience.”
“Samuel is an incredible guide. He told my group from the start that he would push us hard in order to fit as much into our schedule as possible. He did an excellent job explaining the political and conflicts of the modern era, as well as the history of some of the older sites. He showed a reverence for my Christian faith, and encouraged us to reflect upon that. In addition, he was amazing fun. Between the question book he passed around the the songs of the day, he was always looking to spice up the trip as much as possible. In addition, throughout the trip he kept looking to add little trips here or there to our itinerary, which allowed my group to visit an olive oil factory and a date farm. In all, I would highly recommend Samuel as your guide through Israel.”
“Samuel’s understanding and passion for the state of Israel, past and present, are clear in everything he does for his tours. From music to archeology, no one can give such a well-crafted picture of Israel as a whole, the good, the bad, and the ugly all included. I will remember this experience for the rest of my life and would recommend Samuel to anyone!”
“Samuel is truly the best of the best. He is extremely knowledgable on every single part of Israel, from the conflicts of the region to the religions in the area, and everything in between. And on top of that, he is warm, funny, and truly pleasure to spend an extended period of time with, as our group did. He really does go above and beyond the expectations of a tour guide in every way.”
“I traveled to Israel with an EMBA program from Philadelphia. The group was large, traveling with 30 people. Sam greeted us bright and early Sunday morning to start our week. His fabulous professionalism tied with his witty, dry sense of humor made every moment of the week, both big and small, absolutely unforgettable. Sam graciously went above and beyond, learning who each of us were prior to arriving and understand everyone’s individual needs. Sam traveled with us daily to locations near and (hours away) far from Tel Aviv, including Nazareth and Jerusalem. He always knew great people and could point us to great food during breaks. Even now after the trip Sam stays connected and shares photos and funny little jokes. A great person. A great guide. And, forever, a great memorable experience. Sam Green!”
“Israel is a fascinating country with of course a very complex history, so it would be easy to come away from a first time visit with a one-sided viewpoint of what makes Israel, well, Israel. Sam was the perfect guide for us as a group, personable (taking the time to get to know as many of us as possible) and has detailed knowledge of the history that has shaped the country to the one that we know today. He presented both detailed historical facts and also tackled complex religious topics such as holiness, important when visiting sites in Jerusalem. He left his personal faith journey out of the discussions and was able to present multiple viewpoints in a clear non-divisive manner. From the holocaust museum to the beaches of Tel Aviv, Sam was a constant welcome presence with our group and we are all better informed as a result of our interactions with him. He was able to keep us on track with humor and he was sorely missed on the final 2 days of the trip when we moved to a new location and changed guides. I wish Sam and his wife and newborn daughter who we had the pleasure of meeting all the best and highly recommend Sam as a guide to anyone visiting Israel. PS Ask him to rap for you. He is a man of many unexpected talents!”
“Not just an amazing guide, but an absolutely great guy to spend the week with!”
“Samuel effortlessly fit into our group right away. His fun attitude, openness to questions and discussion, and sprinkling our bus rides with jokes were only a few of the ways he made our trip fantastic. I was impressed by his dedication to his craft and level of knowledge, which he shares in such a way that pulls you in and makes it easy to remember all the history. Aside from being the most reliable source of historical knowledge we could ask for, Samuel kept us informed of current events, what’s hot on the restaurant scene, and other little nuances about life in Israel we would have not otherwise known. I absolutely plan to make it back to Israel and will reach out to Sam again without question.”
“After having the pleasure of touring Israel with Samuel for 5 days, I can say that Sam is an amazing tour guide! Definitely one of the best guides I have come across in my travels. Not only does Sam have a incredible understanding of Israel’s history and culture he is a great storyteller who is able to keep your interest all day long. Sam’s charm, sense of humor, and passion for the country of Israel gave me an experience that I will never forget.”
“Had the opportunity to tour with Samuel Green over 5 days. I have no idea how he keeps so much diverse knowledge in his head. I consider myself a history buff and Samuel’s ability to piece together Israel’s complex history is just awesome. Even better is that it’s just not about facts and details, but also about the human experience from multiple viewpoints. I’m hoping to come back to Israel with my family and Samuel will be my only choice the next time we come.”
“Samuel was an amazing, knowledgeable guide who made my first experience in Israel a truly memorable one. Even with a large group, he took time to understand what each of our interests were, in order to highlight these aspects on our tour. He is a great storyteller with an excellent sense of humor, making our week both fun and informative. Samuel was one of the best guides I’ve had and I would absolutely recommend him to anyone visiting Israel!”
“We had Sam during our grad school Israel trek. He was with our 50-person bus for a week. Samuel is incredibly knowledgable and kind. I learned so much about history, religion, culture and politics of Israel from him during the trip. He made efforts to get to know each of us and he remembered our names and background. Besides his knowledge and kindness, his sense of humor also made our trip more enjoyable. I would recommend Sam to anyone who is considering finding a tour guide in Israel.”
“Insightful, funny, witty, balanced - Sam is a great (guy)de!!”
“I apologize for the bad pun. Sam was our guide during a week-long school trip in Israel, from Jerusalem to the Dead Sea, Golan Heights, Tel Aviv, and various other spots during the week. Not only did he offers us a great historical overview of every site we visited, he would always supplement it with some personal insight and draw out questions from participants regarding whatever issue this place was relating to. Participants also appreciated his efforts to relate to people on a more personal level and to plan the trip according to the group’s interests. I can recommend Sam to whoever wants to visit Israel and is looking for more than just the usual travel experience!”
“We had Sam as our guide educator during our graduate school’s trek to Israel. Samuel was a wonderful guide who was not only knowledgable but was excellent at painting wonderful stories in sites and places rich in history. Sam not only made an attempt to do complete his duties as our tour educator but made an attempt to connect with everyone individually by learning our names and our interests. I would recommend Sam to anyone who is considering using a tour company for a future visit to Israel.”
“Sam - An Insightful, Hilarious, and Genuine Tour Guide”
“Sam was my tour guide on an organized grad school tour of Israel. He has a wide breadth of knowledge of Israel and the region, and offers great insight into all things Israeli culture, society, geography, and international affairs. Sam also was diligent in knowing each name of the 50+ participants on our trip, and spent time getting to know us well beyond my expectations. I HIGHLY recommend Sam for a tour of Israel of any duration and group size. Much much appreciated!”
“I had the pleasure of spending a week touring around Israel, from Jerusalem to the Dead Sea, Golan Heights, and Tel Aviv, with Samuel and I can say with real confidence that his expertise and natural skill as a guide absolutely made the trip! At each place we visited he was full of insight and humor, weaving together ancient history, modern politics, humorous anecdotes, and a philosophical perspective on the rich culture and history of Israel, all delivered with spot-on British wit. The itinerary he created and locations which he showed us would have been very difficult to access without him, and he made everything run like clockwork. My friends and I are indebted to him, not only as an excellent guide, but as a teacher and warm friend.”
“Samuel was my guide on a trip organized for my American business school in March 2018. He did an amazing job guiding our 50 person bus (150 person tour group) through the sites and keeping us on track on a busy schedule. I really enjoyed his great whit and he did a tactful job of discussing political and religious issues in a highly respectful manner. Can’t recommend more highly!”
“Sam is a great friend, philosopher and guide - I mean that literally. He is convivial and can share a good laugh with you and give you an entertaining analogy. His profound sagacity and wisdom of the historical land is exhaustive and yet is able to break it down to you in the limited time span that you may have on your visit. He is able to rhapsodize historical tales and weave it out in memorable allegories and anecdotes. So when you’re in the hold land, make sure to grab some wine with Sam and break bread - almost literally over a good meal.”
“Samuel is an excellent guide. He is balanced, informative, and can seamlessly simplify very complex information. He does not hesitate to insert humor into his talks, and always enjoys a good pun. He was able to immediately build a rapport with the group, remembered everyone’s names, and created a comfortable space to be honest and ask the hard questions.”
“Knowledgeable, witty, fun guide. Can’t recommend enough”
“Samuel is one of the best guides I’ve ever had on a tour. His knowledge of Israeli history, culture, and politics is really amazing, and truly made my trip. We were on a student group of almost 50 and he was patient, funny, and truly seemed to love teaching people about his adopted country. Truly can’t recommend enough.”
“Samuel was a terrific guide: thoughtful, knowledgeable, kind, personable and patient. He took us to all the best sites throughout Israel and managed our large group as a pro. I’m sure he would be fantastic as a guide for a smaller group as well.”
“Fun, very professional and extremely knowledgeable. He presented Israel through some great stories that left me with a colorful and lasting impression of the country.”
“Sam is very knowledgeable about Israeli history and politics, so he was able to answer nearly every question we had. He presented facts in a generally unbiased manner and allowed us to make our own opinions about the various contentious issues in the country. Also, he made this very educational trip fun with his jokes and 'song of the day.' I would recommend him to anyone looking to get to know more about Israel and have fun while doing it.”
“Samuel was an amazing guide. He was a guide for a week-long school trip around Israel. As complex and difficult as it can be to understand the cultures, history, and domestic and international politics of Israel, he provided not only detailed but also multi-faceted explanations and tried to answer the group’s questions in his best knowledge. I would highly recommend!”
“Samuel was an outstanding guide for our tour of Israel (Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Dead Sea / Masada and Negev). Not only is his knowledge base incredible, but he was able to present information in an interactive and interesting format to a large group. That being said, Samuel was much more than an encyclopedia - he brought a great personality and friendliness to the group and was fun to be around. My tour of Israel would not have been the same without Samuel.”
“Samuel is amazing! He takes care to present all viewpoints, and had some excellent answers to really complex and varied questions the group shot at him. His discussions were approachable and interesting, from museum tours through the Israeli music scene. Bottom line: a wonderful experience, great for academics or anyone trying to dig deep into Israeli culture.”
“If you are looking for a tour guide for Israel look no further!”
“Samuel was a great tour guide for our trip around Israel. He was happy to answer any questions posed and always tried to make everything as fun and insightful as possible.”
“Samuel Green links places through compelling stories, told effectively and with ease and thus makes the usual components of a site - architecture, famous personages, historical facts - memorable and entertaining. The group today was beyond 30 people and they stayed with him in the busy and windy old town of Yavo. A treat!”
“Our trip was actually in the summer - I got so busy that I forgot to write a review. Samuel was so unforgettable, here I am months later! He was by far the best tour guide I have ever had. He knows the ins and outs of Israel, and his love for the country is evident. He gives 110% to make sure you have the most welcome stay and learn extensive, interesting facts about the various locations. Thank you, Samuel, for an unforgettable trip! We love you and still talk about you here at Regent! Thankful.”
“Samuel was an amazing tour guide who led us through our ten day trip of Israel with ease. He thoroughly enjoys his job and we was very knowledgeable about Israel historically and currently. The time we had on the bus he let us ask him questions (nothing was off the table including personal questions) and shared Israeli music with us. He didn’t make us feel rushed by any means but we didn’t feel like we lacked anything on our trip either. I highly recommend hiring him as your tour guide while in Israel and if I ever go back I would love to have him again!”
“Samuel Green is not only a wonderful person, he is also a great Tourguide. Being a Tourguide is not a job for him, it is his calling and passion. You can feel this passion the way he treats people, not only the group he is leading, but everybody around. You can feel his passion for Israel when he talks and gets you to the sites. Samuel went far and beyond in guiding us. Taking us to places early so we could flee the other tourist groups, took us to places tourist usually do not go and taught us how to sing and dance in hebrews. Just a wonderful person.”
“If you ever find yourself in Israel, contact My Israeli Guide, Samuel Green, to give you a tour. He knows Israel, its and the Jews’ history, and its present (including culture and politics), extremely well, and explains it so it’s easier to understand. Samuel is very friendly and will answer any questions you have. If you have him as your guide for several days and travel by bus with him (like my group did), he’ll even play some Middle Eastern songs and teach you the hand motions. Even after your tour, you can contact him with any other questions you may have. I highly recommend hiring him as a tour guide when you go to Israel.”
“My first trip to Israel!! Our tour guide Samuel Green was the best, he gave historical biblical insight of the Holy Land. He is awesome, made my experience wonderful. #bestbus”
“As someone who is paid to give tours for my college, I can attest Samuel (My Irsraeli Guide) abilities is above and beyond anything I have seen. He can make nearly anything interesting, and can pick up those "im tired" looks without us ever having to verbalize them. i think he must scout locations beforehand because he has an uncanny ability to find shade at any time of the day. All that combined with a English-accent make him a great tour guide.”
“WOW! Samuel Green was such a great tour guide! If you have the opportunity to travel with him, please take it! He is so knowledgeable about literally everything in Israel and he made my experience better than I could have imagined. He is the best tour guide you will get and it was a privilege being able to travel with him! #bestbus #besttourguide”
“Samuel (the guide) is a jolly fellow. He makes long hot days in the Israeli mountains feel like short gleeful excursions. With both the on-site explanations and the fun activities on the bus I was never bored. My crew had about 40 people on it and I never heard anyone complain. Just the right amount of useful information while also highlighting the important spots with fun facts. Extremely thorough and caring tour guide that will keep you laughing!”
“Samuel provided the most authentic, interesting and fun tour of Israel that I could have imagined. One of the things that stood out to me was his ability to introduce us to the culture, history, as well as geopolitical insights with outstanding fairness. When my boyfriend proposed to me at the Sea of Galilee, Samuel made sure the event was even more special. In my opinion, Samuel is the best guide in Israel.”
“Samuel Green is an incredible man who made my trip to Israel a life-changing experience. I’ll never be the same again. During my most recent trip to Israel I got engaged to my best friend Gwenyth, and Samuel made sure we had the best experience and the best celebration ever. I don’t have enough words to thank him. I highly recommend him, and I’m honored today to think of him not just as a tour guide, but as a brother and a friend.”
“Led by Samuel Green, myself and a large group toured parts of the whole Jewish State, from the Golan Hieghts down to the Gaza Strip. I’ve been to Israel before but never with anyone so knowledgeable and thorough. Samuel has a scholarly mind and a kind heart. Samuel is hands down the best.”
“fantastically knowledgable guide... had a few locals amongst the group who asked difficult questions but Samuel answered everything with full knowledge of the subject matter and in a way that was engaging. We spent a couple of hours with Samuel whose story telling made the whole of Jaffa come alive. Highly recommend.”
“Sam is an amazing tour guide who will challenge the way you see Israel!”
“Sam not only helped me better understand the history of Israel and its relationship with neighboring countries but also helped me think more deeply about human experiences - how does one remember one’s national history, how does one think about one’s identity, how does a place become a holy site, etc. He was a combination of knowledge and fun - traditional and modern - history and myths. On a less serious but maybe equally important note, you never have to worry about restroom/coffee/popsicle breaks when you are with Sam - very important in hot summer months!”
“Samuel was a wonderful tour guide for our large group. Not only is he very knowledgeable and open (see all his other rave reviews), he also knows how to facilitate an entertaining experience. For example, over our 10 days together, he dressed up as an ancient hero, played silly / energizing Israeli songs on our bus, incorporated cliffhangers into our walking tour, and got to know all 40+ of us individually so that he could better tailor the experience. He’s also a super cool dude. Ask him about his startup and original hip-hop music too!”
“Samuel was an excellent tour guide for our group. He was knowledgeable, thoughtful, and always willing to answer questions. I especially enjoyed his themed walking tours. I would highly recommend that you take a tour with Samuel.”
“Sam was a fantastic tour guide and provided us with insightful information that made our trip very enriching and thoughtful. His relationships with those in the industry along with his affable personality make it easy to strike up engaging conversations and learn about Israel in depth. He also always encouraged questions on anything and was always very candid with his responses. I’m so happy we had Sam as our guide and definitely will miss him!”
“Samuel was an amazing guide for my group’s trip to Israel. He is incredibly knowledgeable, and was able to answer our many, many questions on everything from ancient roman history to modern day Israeli society. When covering contentious topics, he also has an amazing ability to look at issues from multiple perspectives and convey a lot of nuance without leaving his audience disoriented. Probably the best guide I’ve had for any trip.”
“Samuel was an incredible guide who made my trip to Israel one of the best ever. He is not only a wealth of knowledge but an incredibly good storyteller that kept our group of 50 students listening the entire time. I would very much recommend!”
“Sam was an awesome guide that made my trip to Israel one of the best trips I have ever taken. He is highly knowledgable of all the history, current events, and politics of the region. He is also very funny which kept the trip entertaining. Highly recommend!”
“Samuel is a fantastic guide. He is so knowledgeable and has built relationships with many of the places you will visit. It is a real advantage. Even more of an advantage is that he knows how to build relationships. He kept the trip moving and if there ever was an issue ie: rain, etc. He found an alternative without ever skipping a beat. I truly believe that having Sam as our guide really enhanced our trip.”
“I recently visited Israel with other law students as part of a 10-day vacation. Our tour guide, Samuel did an exceptional job of answering our many questions and providing wonderful food recommendations. Samuel was with us during the entire vacation and our group was blessed to have such a charismatic, intelligent, and overall, awesome person as our guide. Samuel not only is an expert on all things Israel, but his explanations are crafted in such a way that you are transported to ancient times. It was a beautiful and unforgettable experience to have tangible history right before you eyes, coupled with a great guide that explains history in an intriguing and fun way. More than a dates and facts, Samuel told a story that I will cherish for the rest of my life.”
“All what you should be looking for in a great guide you can find with Sam! Insightful, funny, extremely knowledgeable, balancing between historical, cultural, religious, and political perspective, Sam will always keep you active, focus and passionate! We spent the entire week with him and we already all miss him dearly. Thank you Sam for making us discover Israel in such an amazing way!”
“I spent a week with Samuel as part of an iTrek with my graduate school. From beginning to end, it was an unbelievably fun and moving experience. I truly can’t imagine a better guide.”
“Samuel was the perfect guide for our tour around Israel. His knowledge of the history, politics, culture and issues of the region was just incredible. He is funny, thoughtful, balanced and just a great person to spend some time with.”
“Samuel and his company provided my group with a great tour in Israel for a past week. He is extremely smart, witty and communicable. If you are planning a trip to Israel, I definitely recommend you to make a wonderful time with him.”
“He is like an encyclopedia. Very knowledge and great at his job. I am still emailing him questions even after my trip and he has followed up with me. Just a great tour guide. I highly recommend him!!!”
“Samuel was one of the best tour guides I have ever had. It was a privilege to have him as a tour guide throughout Israel. He has a deep knowledge of the history, politics, and culture of Israel. I could not recommend him highly enough.”
“This was my first time in Israel. I was traveling with friends from my graduate program(International Relations), many of whom are experts in issues in the middle east. Sam made an amazing job in guiding us through the country leading interesting conversations and discussions balancing those who knew a lot about the region with those who where not familiar with the many historical and political issues Israel has. He allows room for questions and encourages interesting discussions among any type of group. He is a great guide for all types of people and interests, he is a great person to travel with rigorously answering all our questions while also understanding and allowing time to see the attractions and have your own space. He definitely made our experience unforgettable.”
“I took at trip to around Israel with Samuel as part of a group from my University. He is fantastic, knowledgeable, and personable. Very open to all sorts to questions. I wouldn’t have been able learn close to what I did on my trip without his guidance. Highly, highly recommended.”
“Samuel is incredibly knowledgeable and an incredible story teller. He is able to juxtapose biblical stories with facts in a way that gives legitimacy to those stories while still leaving wiggle room for differing faiths and beliefs. He’s animated and entertaining and made this trip a wonderful experience and most importantly, he knows the best places to eat. You will be happy and well-fed around him.”
“History, local culture, and side of British humor.”
“Samuel was the guide for my group’s tour of Tel Aviv, Nazareth, the Dead Sea, Masada, and Jerusalem. He’s a fantastic guide. He has a great understanding of the history of Israel and the society today. He’s a great storyteller, and hilarious. He’s accommodating, but will also push your group to get the most out of the trip. 100% recommended.”
“Our group coming from the U.S. had so many questions and I myself wasn’t sure what to expect when walking around places in Israel (safety). Samuel was very knowledgeable and funny, answered all our questions, and further; he was also very proactive on making extra comments (even w/o asking) about the history, culture, people, places around and that made me feel comfortable to ask him more questions knowing that I would get an honest/ neutral answer. In my opinion his extra asset is his foreign background, so he knows how we foreigners feel and think (smooth transition). He definitely is "the guide"”
“Samuel is an amazing tour guide! Not only is he incredibly knowledgeable, but he tells the story of Israel with an element of humor that kept us all engaged. He is also incredibly receptive to our specific group -- at every site, he made an effort to go over aspects we might have missed, things that weren’t told to us, or pieces of the puzzle we might not understand, being from Arizona/the States in general. Highly recommend Samuel as a tour guide.”
“As someone who prefers to travel alone, I wasn’t sure if I’d like touring Israel with a group, much less having a tour guide. I’ve had a few in the past who I disliked. Fortunately, I was pleasantly surprised to have a funny and knowledgeable tour guide who brought up interesting facts and took us to exciting places. He also directed us to awesome local places to eat and shop. I think if I would have traveled alone or with even a different guide, I wouldn’t have gotten to see as much of the country and I would not have learned nearly as much! Awesome trip!”
“Beyond Belief, The Best Tour Guide Israel Has to Offer.”
“Having booked Samuel twice, for groups as large as 43 and 30, Samuel managed to take us on an incredible journey through Israel. Samuel inspired awe and amazement every where we went with incredible stories about the sights and sounds around us. I would recommend that you book Samuel for every day you possibly can, the man is extremely recommended for a good reason.”
“My colleagues and I were lucky enough to have Samuel as our tour guide for our week-long tour of Israel. This man is a wealth of knowledge. Everywhere we went (Tel-Aviv, Jaffa, Jerusalem, Nazareth, etc.) he had fascinating nuggets of information to share. He is very personable, approachable, funny, smart, and an all-around great guy. This man made Israel much more relatable and I was able to connect to more of the history with his help. Also, he knows where to get the best meals! Finally, every day of the tour, he would play a “song of the day.” This touch further allowed my colleagues and I to connect with the culture. I could not have asked for a better tour guide! P.S. If you are on time every day, he is able to squeeze in many more sites that you might not have otherwise been able to go. Keep up the great work, Sam!”
“WOW!!!! The best tour ever!!! Samuel is a true storyteller!! The tour started at the clock tower and took us back to the beginning of time… as though we walked the streets with all the historical figures who walked there before us!! This is my 3rd tour with Samuel and I am looking forward to many more! Few guides manage to make Israel come alive as he does!!! Hands down THE BEST!!”
“Unmissable experience exploring Old Jaffa at night!”
“Samuel’s tour was easily one of the highlights of our trip to Israel and one I would recommend to anyone planning theirs. Escaping the heat by exploring Old Jaffa by night, Samuel has a real talent at making the stories and the neighbourhood come alive.”
“Such an incredible tour. Samuel was funny, engaging, exceptionally knowledgeable and brought the tour to life with stories! I cannot recommend Samuel enough. Definitely the best tour”
“Samuel was AMAZING! The whole group loved him and the tour. He was informative, very engaging and easy to be around. His tour had a great rhythm and was very accommodating. A+!!”
“Sam is an outstanding tour guide! Our group was with him for nearly a week journeying around various parts of Israel and he did a phenomenal job. Sam is incredibly knowledgeable on all things Israel (we asked him questions constantly) and very kind to those around him. He has a great sense of humor and keeps the group laughing. If you need a tour guide in Israel, Sam is the man for the job!”
“Planning a week-long tour is no easy feat. Planning a week-long for guests of a destination wedding from America with participants varying between ten to fifty each day (ranging from seasoned Israeli travelers, first-timers, Jews and Christians, all with different requests and expectations of their tours)—should be nearly impossible. There is only one tour-guide on the planet with the skill, knowledge, and most importantly the patience to create and execute on an itinerary for truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience and his name is Samuel Green. Before diving into specifics, I cannot stress enough that Samuel is one of the most interesting, unbelievably smart, caring, and knowledgeable professional guides I and others in our group ever encountered. Although there are many tour-guides in Israel, there is a reason Sam is one of the highest rated and recommended of them all. Sam quickly adjusted to the varying interests, questions, and demands of almost fifty people. Some tour participants wanted only surface level history, while others wanted to engage in specific details of events that occurred thousands of years ago. No matter what the ask was, no matter how controversial or simplistic, Samuel handled them all with ease. After deciding to have a destination wedding in Israel, just important as the details of the actual wedding itself, was creating an Israeli experience for our guests. We identified Samuel after reading dozens of his reviews praising his tours. Samuel was responsive, even though he has a busy schedule all over Israel. Initial communication was both via email and on the phone. Samuel asked us numerous questions to gauge our expectations and customize our experience. As you could imagine, we were nervous that a tour guide would be able to accommodate varying people each day. For instance, some days would only have ten people, while other days would have up to fifty. Not only did Samuel design daily tours to make it interesting for our guests, but picked activities that would accommodate each day’s group, both in numbers and in desires what to see. Most importantly, Samuel even helped us figured out how much each day would cost, per person. This made it extremely easy for us to organize payment individually and collectively. Samuel also made it easy for us to travel around Israel. He arranged a luxurious bus (with chargers and Wi-Fi) that would not only take us to our tour destinations, but transferred our entire group, with luggage, from our hotel in Tel Aviv to our hotel in Jerusalem. Samuel then designed a colorful website for our guests that listed, in detail, each day’s activities, pick-up points, and items to bring. The website was beautifully laid out, with pictures of each destination and a brief description of what we would see. This website became a critical part of our wedding week as we were able to share it with friends and family in advance, so those who wanted to participate could select what interested them and on what days to participate. For other guests who did not participate, they knew where the rest of the group was at all times. And for our friends and family who could not make the trip from America to Israel, it served as a tool for them to keep up with what we were doing from afar. After numerous correspondence with Samuel, we designed the perfect itinerary, that somehow managed to please everyone. The first day was Old & New Tel Aviv. This tour took us all over Tel Aviv and Jaffa. We explored a very modern city’s heritage and history. We also saw first-hand why Tel Aviv is a modern-day incubator of business and technology. The second day we explored Israel’s Coastal Plain. Samuel took us to Caesara, Old Akko, and the picturesque Baha’i Gardens. Although the third day started in Tel Aviv (after we checked out of our hotel), it was all about “Memory” in Jerusalem. It was an informative day that taught us about the Holocaust and history of Israel. All guests, whether Jewish or not, were moved and learned more than expected. The day started at Yad Vashem, lunch was at the famous Machane Yehuda Market in JLM, and then we visited the Israel Museum. We were then brought directly to our hotel in Jerusalem. The fourth day started bright and early as we departed Jerusalem for our Desert Discovery to Masada National Park and the Dead Sea. The fifth and final day, “Holiness in Israel,” was mainly on foot and actioned packed. As we were within two days of the wedding, this day had the most participants—almost fifty. It was no trouble for Samuel who gave each and every person a personalized experience. First was the City of David, then the David Center Excavations, and the Davidson Center in the Old City. Each day Samuel spent the entire time with the group. He was respectful if people wanted to speak or be left alone to explore themselves. Samuel helped us pick places to eat, that would accommodate the varying sizes of our groups, and give us a taste of the local cuisine and culture. During lunch, he was engaging and helped us further our knowledge of what we had seen and were about to see. On the bus, he would answer any questions, bring up interesting topics of discussion, or just let us sleep: there was never any pressure. During the tours, Samuel made personal connections with each of us and gave his contact information to everyone to continue the conversation about Israel. Our wedding week would not have been as special and our knowledge of Israel would not have been as strong without Samuel. He truly made our wedding week a once in a lifetime trip, that gave color and additional purpose to why Israel is such a special place for everyone. When we look back at our wedding week, Samuel’s tour was an integral part of the most special times in our lives. There is simply no one else to consider if you want a first-class, educational, memorable, and moving Israeli experience. We will always be grateful that our wedding week was so special because of Samuel!”
“We are 6 nearly 30 year olds and did a whole day private tour with Samuel covering modern Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. It was a fantastic jam packed day. Samuel was an excellent tour guide, extremely knowledgeable, friendly and easy going. He tailored the tour to us, answered all our questions ranging from politics / religion / food / healthcare - about anything and everything. Really feel we learnt more on the day than we did the whole of the rest of the trip. Couldn’t recommend more highly! He also took us to excellent places for food and had great tips for the rest of our trip! Thank you Sam!”
“Samuel is an excellent and informative guide, from our first communication he wanted to know about our group so he could tailor the days especially for us, nothing was too much trouble. Our 2 days were structured brilliantly, thank you Samuel for sharing your knowledge, wonderful stories and humour with us. We all loved learning about your fascinating and beautiful country.”
“Our party of 16 were very fortunate to go with Samuel by mini-bus to Jerusalem and learn a lot in a short space of time. In spite of the (mostly wonderful) heat, we packed in a lot of activities and walking while all along he gave us chances to learn the history of this fascinating city. It was excellent that Samuel used the journey through the countryside on the way to provide us with some relevant history and he held up maps and asked US questions which heightened everyone’s interest. He was alert to what the various members of the group were interested in within double quick time and made us all feel very involved; when we might have been flagging he gave us lots of encouragement and the icing on the cake was our shady, raised viewpoint towards the old city and what he sensitively calls the Wishing Wall, rather than the Western or Wailing wall. He proved even-handed, as far as we could tell at least, about the current issues that throw up such challenges to all the people in the region and we are going to be able to read news reports with greater understanding.”
“Samuel and his team were wonderful tour guides, with a great deal of knowledge of israel, historically, geographically, spiritually, socially and more. We had an interesting and stimulating tour for 5 days touring many biblical sites and also part of the city and culture of Tel aviv and I found the tour very comprehensive and uplifting. Thank you Samuel for doing a great introduction to Israel!”
“Samuel knew how to manage the group, with his humour, knowledge, patience and attention to the varying ages and interests. Some of us had visited Israel many times before but he kept us engaged and we continued to learn new facts particularly through his stories and anecdotes. Nothing was too much trouble for him. Highly recommend Samuel”
“Sam is amazing at explaining complex issues and delivers with an equally amazing witty British style. I can’t recommend him enough for anyone who visits Israel and seeks a guide who knows what he is doing.”
“Sam is an incredible guide. While taking you through sites, he retells ancient history in a fun and engaging way. He also makes a great effort to get to know the members of his group and ensure that everyone is content and having a great time while also learning.”
“Samuel is the best tour guide that I have ever had. He was extremely knowledgeable and took the time to present many different viewpoints. He was great at building culture and connections within the group and it never felt forced. He was interested in getting to know all of us (30 people) and knew all of our names by the end of the trip. He also had hilarious stories about his experience as a tour guide. Finally, I found his sense of humor to be the perfect, understated British humor that made our long bus rides low-key hilarious and entertaining. Choose Samuel as your next guide - you will be happy you did!”
“Samuel was the best tour guide I’ve ever had. He was very engaging and funny and knows everything about Israel! He made my Israel trip one of the best trips of my life. Thanks so much!”
