“A bespoke tour, accommodating the little ones.”
“Samuel is a talented guide who took us around Jerusalem with our 2 young daughters (2&3 years old). He was very flexible and tried to accommodate everyone including the little ones by designing a bespoke tour according to our experiences, preferences and passions. We started with a visit of the old city: Western Wall, Church of the Holy Sepulchre. We carried on in the afternoon with the science museum for the little ones and an Israeli wine tasting. On top of being very knowledgeable and educated (MA in Hebrew and Israeli studies from Cambridge) Samuel pays a lot of attention to small details even for the little ones. We had an unforgettable experience and even found some time to speak about geopolitics in the region. We would recommend Samuel without any hesitation.”
“Three summers running, he holds teenagers’ attention.”
“For the third summer in a row, I was lucky enough to have Samuel guide my teen leadership group’s summer travel days. Knowing I would be working alongside Samuel made everything easier for me before and during the trip. Samuel has many strengths (extremely knowledgeable, creative problem solver, knows all the good ice cream places!), but being a guide who has a clear vision of what he is going to share, and being able to hold the interest of teenagers while doing so, are rare qualities. Samuel also goes above and beyond the call of duty - he is always looking out for the best interests of the group, advocates on our behalf, and remains available to participants (and leaders!) even after the trip has ended. I know that my teens can always email him with questions about the places we visited or about Israel in general, and he is always happy to answer my questions or give me suggestions even when unrelated to our work together. I can’t recommend him enough!”
“Pre-teens, teenagers, parents and grandparents – he inspired us all.”
“Samuel guided our family track of 30 men, women and children through Tel Aviv and Jerusalem for a period of 8 days. It is not easy to involve and inspire pre-teens, teenagers, parents and grandparents all at the same time, but Samuel managed to accomplish this feat with a combination of humor, intellect, perspective and patience. My wife and I have been on tours to Israel with very excellent guides, but Samuel is clearly our favorite.”
“Ancient and modern Jewish texts opened up Tel Aviv.”
“We asked Samuel to give students (ages 18-19) a tour of “Jewish Tel Aviv”. He led a fantastic tour that included interesting and unexpected destinations and information about the modern city. Samuel was able to really engage the students through ancient and modern Jewish texts, which helped pieced together a Jewish perspective of Tel Aviv that they had never considered before. Samuel was very generous with his time and hospitality. He has wealth of knowledge and is very good at tailoring the tour to fit the requirements and requests of the group. Additionally he is very responsible, communicative, and will do everything to ensure the tour goes smoothly. Highly recommended!”
“A tremendous thank you to Sam for a wonderful and comprehensive tour on our 8-day stay in Israel. Sam was simply the best -- very knowledgeable, thorough, and had a really good sense of humor. He planned each day in a very well organized pace without skipping any of the details. His knowledge and passion of each site made us want to learn more about Israel’s history, culture and traditions. Our trip to Israel was truly phenomenal and I very much am thankful for Sam for the amazing, unforgettable experience. We would highly recommend Sam for anyone considering visiting Israel!”
“Samuel is knowledgeable and makes touring Israel an extraoridary experience. We visited Israel over Pesach and wanted an excellent tour guide who would show us and teach us all the things that we would never be able to do on our own. Samuel was the perfect guide. We hired him for a week and he planned a perfect experience. Our teens loved him. He tells great stories and offers an interesting perspective. He is funny and not overbearing. We very much enjoyed spending our vacation with him. A little known secret is that he is also a rapper.”
“It is my trip #7 in Israel and this is the best guide that I ever had. Samuel is really passionate about showing Israel, teaching people about culture, religious, politic issues, etc. As I said before, this is not my first time in Israel and I had visited the same places many times, but the way in which Samuel explained everything made trip more enjoyable and interactive!”
“Amazing tour around Israel with most knowledgeable and humorous guide”
“I toured around Israel for a week with Sam as our guide. Sam is a fantastic guide. He is extremely knowledgeable and can answer complex questions logically and immediately. He is also very humorous. His jokes created a lot fun for us, not to mention his performance as an ancient Jewish leader. He is also a very good cheerleader and taught us some middle-eastern dance moves on the bus, making the time on bus also exciting.”
“I had a great day being shown around the Old City of Jerusalem. Samuel is truly knowledgeable about all things "Jerusalem". Whilst I had until considered myself not unfamiliar with the city, Samuel took me to uncharted territory, namely, the Temple Mount. It was definitely an experience, and I’m certain not part of standard tours of Jerusalem! If you’re looking for a fun, educational day out, Samuel’s the one to call!”
“It is my first time travel to Israel, so full of curiosity and excitement. Samuel is absolutely the best tour guide that I have ever had. He told us Jewish history and stories with smooth tone, but I can feel that his inner faith connects with the land. He is supper smart, thoughtful, and considerate. If I come back some day, I want to have Samuel as my tour guide again.”
“Samuel was our guide for a 10 day Taglit Birthright experience, touring the country from the North to the Negev. Samuel is a passionate, talented, and extremely knowledgeable guide, who can adapt his style to any group type. With his charming British accent, Samuel provides lots of context to the various sites in Israel - something which is rare and essential to anyone who wishes to fully understand Israel from a variety of perspectives. Highly recommended.”
“I was lucky enough to go on a 10 day Taglit Birthright tour this summer. My tour leaders were very friendly, but it was Samuel who really made the trip special. He went above and beyond to make sure our itinerary ran smoothly, and he was extremely knowledgeable about everything to do with Israel. He is charismatic and brings his charming sense of British humour to his tour programming. I will never forget experiencing Shabbat at the Western Wall, walking through Jerusalem at night, or hiking Masada while listening to Saumel’s stories about the history of this amazing country. His patience with our group and his expertise as a tour guide made my trip a success. Thank you Samuel!”
“A knowledgable, relatable, flexible and fun guide!”
“Samuel guided my group of Canadian teens from a youth leadership program for a couple weeks in July 2016. Before the trip, he checked in with me multiple times and we worked together to clarify the educational goals of the group and the trip. Throughout our touring, Samuel weaved in our themes and helped to make each stop relevant to the group. He has a calm and friendly guiding style with which the teens really connected. They also vocalized throughout the trip how much they were learning from him. In my experience with bringing groups to Israel, it is rare to find a guide that is always focused on the group’s needs and goals without getting carried away by their own interests that may be less relatable to the teens. Samuel did an excellent job of reading the group, keeping energy up, and developing a personal bond with the teens. I would definitely recommend Samuel for any type trip you may be planning.”
“Samuel was a terrific guide. His knowledge, patience, insight and sense of humor added greatly to our time in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. His ability to engage young kids, adults and grandparents is remarkable.”
“After a positive, successful experience with Samuel in summer 2016, I requested him to guide my 2017 teen leadership group. We were lucky to get him again (I know we are not the only group that asked for him!), and for the second time he connected incredibly well with my new group of Canadian teens - sharing interesting stories, connecting to our narrative, and answering questions clearly and concisely. It was a pleasure to work with Samuel on a staff level as well, as he always thought ahead, explored various options or requests that we had (in advance and on the ground), and went above and beyond to help us with any details that he could. You can’t go wrong with Samuel guiding your group!”
“Having been on guided trips in Israel on seven separate occasions in the past decade, involving seven different tour guides, I can safely say that Samuel’s thoughtful explanations, apparent love for his subject matter, and kind and charming personality made for an unforgettable Israel experience that stood above all the rest. He is experienced. He is committed. As someone who immigrated to the country less than a decade ago, but who nonetheless managed to learn virtually everything there is to know about it, he is well-equipped to provide a perspective of Israel that is especially meaningful to those who come from outside of it. Just one way he provides that perspective (for those who are interested) is enabled through his vast knowledge of contemporary Israeli music. If you’re at all interested in getting to know Israel partly through the various sounds and styles that make up its unique and eclectic national music, then Samuel is absolutely your guy.”
“We gave Samuel the challenge of taking us to places we had not been before and he more than met the brief. We went up to the north of Israel and had a wonderful drive up and Samuel pointed out everything of interest on route. We had a wonderful lunch on a kibbutz where I add one of the best steaks I have ever had!!! Overall it was a wonderful day and nothing was too much trouble for Samuel, he answered every question and told us some wonderful stories and really brought the the sites to life for us. Thanks for everything.”
“We visited Jerusalem for a day trip with Samuel as our guide. Having read a lot about this incredible city we could not wait to see it and Samuel was an excellent guide. On the drive from Tel Aviv he explained the day structure and what we would cover based on our interests. We first visited Yad Vashem and Samuel took us through this museum explaining the various events and how that was encapsulated in the museums structure. After this we headed to the western wall but had a lovely lunch on the way. Samuel explained the area surrounding the holy places in great detail and was able to answer all our questions very well and in detail. We managed to fit the western wall and church within the afternoon whilst walking and spending time on the ancient streets and soaking up the local culture. At 5 pm we headed back to Tel Aviv. An incredible day indeed and would highly recommend Samual.”
“Returning to Israel after 30+ years, my wife, sister-in-law and I recently spent 5 days touring around Jerusalem, the Galilee/Golan, and Jaffa with Samuel, and we could not have been happier with our trip! From our initial request for information, until the very last moment when he dropped us off at the end of our time together, Samuel was a true professional in every sense of the word. He was extremely knowledgeable about Israel’s history and culture, made great suggestions about places to see and things to do, and had wonderful restaurant recommendations (he even made us dinner reservations for nights we were on our own to make things easier for us). Samuel was extremely organized, planned ahead, and most importantly, was a great (and fun!) leader for our little group. Even though the 3 of us had varied interests and personalities, Samuel was a very astute observer/listener, being flexible and cleverly tailoring parts of each day to ensure all of us were engaged and having fun. Choosing Samuel as our guide made our visit back to Israel an amazing experience that we will all cherish for many years to come. We highly recommend Samuel and can’t thank him enough!”
“Samuel Green is one of the most entertaining and knowledgeable tour guides probably in all of Israel, I have to say we are really lucky to have met and have him as our tour guide. Always willing to answer your unnecessary questions and not mention he has his own tracks that he handed out to us by CD at the end of the trip. He made our trip very entertaining, comfortable and fun along the way. He had little competitions and just funny jokes he would make along the way that made everybody closer. Overall an amazing experience with him as a guide and would highly recommend him for whatever travels or guide you need. 10/10”
“Samuel is an incredible tour-guide. Not only is he brimming with knowledge, he also delights in sharing it in a relatable and fun way. He was extremely approachable and sensitive to the needs of all trip constituents, and made a clear effort to cater his approach to the needs of our group. Thank you so much Sam, you made Birthright an experience to remember!”
“Samuel is an incredibly knowledgeable, passionate, hard working, and engaged tour guide with a great sense of humour. He led my Taglit Birthright trip and shows a clear love for his job and great desire to make sure his participants are having a great time. I would strongly recommend contacting Sam upon your next visit to Israel!”
“I was fortunate enough to have Samuel as my tour guide on birthright. He is very knowledgable, friendly and has great connections to make the trip that much more enjoyable. I highly recommend him as a guide.”
“I had such an incredible experience having Samuel as our tour educator of the Birthright trip that a was a staff of! Aside from being an absolute pleasure to work with, he was so knowledgable about every site we visited, as well as the history of Israel. It was my 6th time visiting Israel, and my 5th time being on an organized trip of Israel, but I learned so many new fascinating facts about Israel that I had never known before. He taught me new things about each place that we visited even if I had already been to those places. I even learned so many interesting facts on the bus rides between different sites. He also has a great sense of humour and made our trip a lot of fun! Samuel has a great personality, and he is a pleasure to learn from, be around, and he even has a secret talent of freestyle rapping! I highly recommend contacting Samuel for a tour of Israel! He made our trip so incredible and it wouldn’t have been the same with any other guide!”
“Samuel was our guide for nine days. We planned the whole trip with him. He is very knowledgeable, patient, kind, respectful, interesting, easy to understand, reliable, punctual, practical and resourceful. Samuel can help you with all aspects of your trip. You would be lucky to have him as your guide. He appeals to all ages, including teens. Do yourself a favour and book with Samuel as your guide.”
“Samuel was our tour guide during a recent 10 day family trip to Israel. There were three generations in our group and Samuel was able to engage each and every member of our family. He is smart, thoughtful and passionate about his work. In a short period of time, Samuel was able to show us much of what Israel is about. He provided a window into Israel’s history, people and culture. Samuel also understood that this was a vacation for us and made it fun. He was able to tailor his approach to meet our group’s needs. Samuel really made our trip special and I look forward to returning to Israel soon and connecting with Samuel again. Michael S.”
“Ten Day Tour of Israel -- Samuel is Intelligent, Fun and Resourceful”
“My husband and I were planning a tour with our four adult children for my husband’s 65th birthday. We contacted Samuel and as one of my kids said "getting Samuel was a key to our whole trip’s success." We toured Jerusalem, Massada and the desert area, the Golan Heights and Galilee, ending in Tel Aviv. His tours had themes to help us remember what we were seeing, he had expansive knowledge to answer questions, and he adapted to all our interests. I knew his humor and lightness would suit the entire age range, and I was confident all would work out when he asked to have a phone conversation with us about what we wanted before we comitted to hiring him. And here’s the thing--we are a hard bunch to please. We travel a lot, and are rather demanding. Specifically, my husband has Jewish heritage, but no knowledge or background in Judaism. I am a chaplain in a progressive church. Our kids are well-educated, and very diverse--one Greek and Roman major in college, one high school science teacher, one public defender interested in the Palestinian issue. We have LGBT issues, and some health issues that we were worried about. They are very interested in food and cooking, but can tire of one more church or ruin, even if I love old sites. Samuel found cooking demonstrations with Palestinian cooks, winerys with tastings near important sites, and cut down some of the minor stops so that we could learn, see and get to know Israel, without feeling like herded sheep. My daughter, the teacher, especially liked his summaries each day of the theme of the day tying together what we saw. It was very important to them that he could talk to them about the political issues of the day in an open way, and allow for the very different levels of religious attachment to the sites in Jerusalem, from reverance to detached interest. Samuel also found an interesting guide to Bethlehem and Jericho who was Palestinian, so we had a different viewpoint from him. Thanks for a great trip, Samuel!”
