The Maccabees Tombs are a series of Second Temple-period burial mounds near Modiin, traditionally tied to the Hasmonean dynasty. The Hasmoneans led the 2nd-century BCE revolt against the Seleucids. Discussed here as part of a day in the Ayalon Valley.
